'Reem is definitely worthy of the top spot. He goes for the kill in K-1 and MMA.

        I can't say I disagree with this.

When people who don't like MMA describe why, its always along the lines of "two men laying on the ground doing nothing".

Casual fans don't always understand the nuances of football, or basketball, or whatever, but as long as there is action they are happy. Most people don't have time to study the strategic nuances of sports, they just want something to occupy their time on weekends and to be entertained.

To be entertained by MMA requires some knowledge of the nuances. Otherwise, it really is just two guys laying on the ground. Some of those fights are boring even when you understand what's happening.

The tradeoff, is hardcores will then complain about the "barfight" style. Its a double edged sword.

yes, the ground is a problem for the casual fans when the guys don't want to work, even me as a grappling guy get bored when it's just 'holding' or lay and praying, I want to see the suttle ground moves, the passes, hip movement, attacking to set up another attack, etc...but some guys don't even do that, I blame the rules and judging

With the stand up, guys like THE REEM, Diaz, Pitbull are always pressing but not 'brawlers', they fight with high level striking skills

Diaz is probably the most exciting on the feet and on the ground, always working, always attacking
