Dana says that fight is not official, that it won't happen at 140 and they haven't even finalized GSP's next opponent.

      Drama.

Meltzer says the reason the fight isn't happening anytime soon is because of Showtime.

Nick Diaz is a Showtime STAR, Zuffa needs to pay showtime, hook them up, a replay or something

I hope Diaz can pull off the upset.

It would certainly make the division all the more interesting.

I wonder what they plan on doing with the Strikeforce division. Not that there is a big division, but mainly Tyron Woodley. I imagine they'll want to keep the belt on Diaz so they can promote it as champion vs. champion....but I doubt they keep the SF division on ice or go ahead and get rid of the SF 170 belt completely.

I guess they will vacate the belt and put it up for a fight later in the year.

Diaz worked Zuffa over, smartest man in MMA

Shields bascially got 150k a fight if he won, I doubt a PPV cut, Diaz probably will get a bigger base salary and a PPV cut, they need him to sell there boring champ

As far as the fight itself, Diaz has no chance. This isn't a gritty journeyman (Cyborg), a washed up Frank, or a boxer (Noons). GSP is the best fighter in the world.

Diaz has been protected by the SF booking. When is the last time he faced a dominant wrestler, someone who won't stand there and get jabbed to death for five rounds?

Diaz will have to win off of his back.

Gracie spoke to Helwani about Diaz's deal..

-He signed a brand new UFC contract, multi-fight, multi-year

-There is a clause prohibiting him from boxing, Gracie made it sound like they were compensated for it

-Apparently, Diaz is able to take fights in UFC and Strikeforce...depending on what's available....obviously, in the likely event Diaz loses to GSP.

-No idea as to the situation with the SF belt

-Gracie jiu-jitsu will beat GSP's wrestling...according to Renzo. :orly:

He didn't work anybody over. He benefitted from circumstance. GSP cleaned out everybody on the UFC side.

Diaz is more likely to lock himself inside of a car before he ever outsmarted anyone. This is the same guy who is aprt of a camp that was too dumb to realise Mayhem was trying to do business with their boy on CBS in front of millions of eyeballs, and ended up inciting a riot.

People don't understand Diaz has a method to his madness

He has done some smart things with his career, I love when he called out GSP, said GSP ddint want to fight him than signs an extension with Strikeforce, the whole boxing angle was perfect, complaining about money and being one of the higher paid guys in the division, etc...

Diaz is going to get paid for the way he has being doing things lately
