Best of the Super Juniors 2011 - May 26th

18 man field, probably the deepest ever. Check out the blocks:

    A
    Prince Devitt
    Koji Kanemoto
Tiger Mask (probably IV, but hopefully Minawaman)
    Taichi
    Jado
    Davey Richards
    TJP (TJ Perkins)*
    Kenny Omega*
    Hayato "Jr" Fujita*

    B
    Jushin "Thunder" Liger
    Ryuske Taguchi
    KUSHIDA
    Gedo
    Daisuke Sasaki
    Mascara Dorada*
    TAKA Michinoku*
    Kota Ibushi*
    Great Sasuke*

    *outsiders

I'm pulling for Liger to get the retro win and get another big push. His feud with Dorada has been fun. Block A is loaded beyond belief. Look for TJP & KUSHIDA to potentially break out this year (think: La Somba). Richards vs Fujita and Richards vs Devitt. Wow. Liger, Gedo, TAKA, and Sasuke is the "veteran" bracket should be fun.

New Japan youtube channel should have a lot of this, since at least three dates are being taped for TV. Very exciting.

My favorite time of the year, wrestling-wise.

No La Sombra makes me sad, though.

Getting the big push in CMLL with Mistico stinking it up in the E. You have to settle for Dorada.

Oh, and holy fuck is Mistico trash in the E.

I told anyone who would listen that La Sombra was better. I was always indifferent towards Mistico. There are a dozen flyers in Mexico who are better all around, but Mistico had the magical charisma. It doesn't translate in the E. Watch HHH blame someone else for bringing him in now, after he stole the credit.

Its funny too, because Sombra has better size than Mistico, and the kind of body they like. Plus he's like 22 years old.

It goes to show the bubble they are in, because they likely just wanted the guy who drew all of that money in 2006, and never bothered to look too deeply into him. Otherwise, they would have realised he can't work the style and had a type of charisma unique to Mexico.

It would be like NOAH bringing in John Cena based on getting over huge in WWE. He'd bomb in Japan, particularly in a place like NOAH. Guys fit where they fit.

Mistico is fine, he looks great when his opponents aren't botching spots.

                  Nope. Missed an asterisk.

Could probably throw one after Richards too, but I left it off because NJPW is his puro home.

KUSHIDA is full time NJPW now, though.

Cool thought I had missed something.

Is it just me or is Richards alot better in Japan. Just seems the be were he is ment to be.

Richards has done well in Japan, but for whatever reason he really isnt over. I dont get it. Maybe they're tired of seeing the super intense Benoit clones come through for the last decade. I cant explain it.

His stuff with Devitt has been awesome, I guess Japan is all about the Ikemen now

Davey's style definitely seems to fit better in Japan, but like W2B said, he doesn't exactly move the crowd for whatever reason.
