The extra time that Hazard thought he was going to gain (what, maybe 30 seconds?) now looks inconsequential compared to the absolute stupidity of KICKING A DOWNED KID. Fuck, if he did that to one of the players on the pitch it'd be a straight red.
It's common practice in the league for ball boys to be no older than 16. This kid was already "retired" in that sense, he was called in to work the game because of all the snow and the regular couldn't make it in, so this was a one time only deal. He claims he was told by the club to waste time when possible, and Laudrup basically confirmed that post match, and frankly it's common in situations like this according to those who have been in the game.

The kid was an idiot and could've done a better job at making his time wasting not so obvious. But Hazard is a fucking dolt. Plain and simple. Defending this is like defending Eric Cantona kicking a fan...

I agree with you. Everything that has come out makes the teen look like a massive douche and his actions back that up. Still have no remorse for Hazard

Even if, magically, none of his body made contact with anything but the ball, the mere act of making a kicking gesture at a downed kid is so colossally stupid that to defend it makes Chelsea fans look even worse.
No, it wouldn't be a straight red. You yourself admitted that he (not maliciously) kicked the ball, while also catching the "player". That sort of thing happens all the time on the field and is deemed clean. If this sort of thing happened on the field no one would care that he kicked, we would only be looking at replays to see if caught the player or the ball first.

LOLOLOLOL. So, just to be clear, you are comparing an incidental kick to this? This is in no way comparable to a poorly timed tackle as the ball 'boy' was lying prone on the ground. Lets just run through, so I can make sure I am understanding what you're saying:
            • Player A has the ball and is fouled
            • Player A falls over and pulls the ball under him (something which players do all the time and should probably be hand ball but whatever)
            • Player B, wanting the ball, KICKS Player A in the ribs. Sure the ball pops out, but he catches Player A solidly in the ribs
            • The referee awards...nothing?

The thing is, I agree with you that the kid is a fucking douche. But you cannot kick a ball boy! AT ALL! There is no gray area here

I'm not saying there is gray area here. I am saying there'd be gray area if it happened on the field or during play and not with a ball teen. That Pepe scenario is entirely different as his intent is obviously malicious.

FA has advised it is going to seek more than the base three games. Poor decision IMO, both parties share the blame and I think the red was punishment enough

God the FA are a bunch of moronic twats. "Violent misconduct" my fucking ass. Just let him serve his three games and get on with it. And of course there is no mention of the time wasting.

He kicked the ball (too). They're making it out to have been malicious, hence the 3 games being "clearly insufficient".

I don't agree with changing the suspension, I think it fits.

But regardless of the kid being a douche or him still getting the ball, it still is what it is.

Well at least the independent commission was sane and decided not to extend Hazard's ban any further.

Bradford's run comes to an emphatic end. Great run by both teams and well done to Swansea.

Maybe Swansea will end up in the European places anyway and Bradford can still go to euroe
