Jordan Walden will get some support. But he's a closer, and for a closer to win you need a weak field and a great, great year. He was good for a rookie, but just 'ok' as a closer overall.
Jennings tailed off, so did Ackley. Eliminate them.
Hellickson was better than Pineda in every way, aside from strikeouts. Pineda was really no better than Ivan Nova (again, aside from K's). Same amount of innings, but Nova had the slightly lower ERA, and a much better ERA+.
Hosmer was the best hitter. So for me, it's Hellickson or Hosmer. I can go either way.

Pitcher B: 3.70 ERA, 4.01 FIP, 5.33 K/9, 3.10 BB/9
Pitcher C: 2.95 ERA, 4.44 FIP, 5.57 K/9, 3.43 BB/9
Guess which one Nova is? Pineda was clearly the best rookie pitcher IMO.
Pineda and Hellickson were virtually tied points wise, and that's with Pineda getting the last month and a half off. I'm glad I have Pineda going forward, better strikeout rates make him a superior fantasy player IMO.

You actually have this all wrong. Fantasy baseball is a stat counting nerd game, and W's is a historically accepted baseball stat.

Do these stats match up the opponents of pitchers? I'm sure Nova pitched against a much better average team coming out of the AL East

Hellickson played in the same division and was still better than Nova.
Historically accepted until the late 90s and hell if you count Bill James he was tearing it to pieces in the 80s.

Yeah. Just look at all of those bad 300 game winners. And every year we see so many bad pitchers win 20 games. Because, as you know, W's are completely team dependent. The performance of the pitcher means nothing.
