One red light flashing is a system error. Take your hard drive out and then turn it on. It should work. If not, then I don't know what you should do.

put your hard drive on his or you dont have a hard drive at all? im not to keen on all the xbox error codes so you may want to try mvps suggestion mine was just if you couldnt get yours fixed at all...
 
The same thing just happened to mine. Take out your hard drive and turn it on. If it still doesn't work that means it is something inside your xbox. You can just put your hard drive on to your uncle's and everything should be on there.

Sadly I have to send mine in and do not have a replacement so I won't get it back for probably a month

sent it in, got it back 2 and a half weeks later. 1 week after getting it back for being repaired, RROD AGAIN!!!!

Same thing here, a lot of people are having this problem now. I think it might have to do with the NXE dashboard update because it happened around that time.
 
My xbox is in repairs now, ive been playing some dreamcast.
