Only thing he's proving is that he shouldn't want any guaranteed money this year after getting $21 million the past 2 years for being terrible, and he's still going to make $4 million in guaranteed salary from the Eagles this year in addition to about $3 million he'll make from SF after incentives. So really, his 2013 salary will be close to $7 million. I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere in the media.

He was always a great man coverage corner in DC, but everyone gave him shit because he could never bring down an interception. When he went to San Francisco, they gave him a simple eye exam, figured out he had sight problems, and boom, Rogers pulled down six in 2011, and saw fewer passes thrown in his direction last season. It was a mistake for Washington to get rid of him.

As far as Asomugha, great signing in my mind. For whatever reason, the Eagles ran a lot of zone, and that's not his game. He'll be used in a lot of man coverage situations in San Francisco, and will definitely see a bounce-back season.

I'm referring to how the media is portraying this as Nnamdi taking less to be on a winner/prove himself/show it's not about the money. Dude's collecting $4 million from Philly for doing nothing, he can afford to take less for another team because personally he'll still be compensated at a high rate. And yes, the 49ers contract has no guarantee, but come on, aside from maybe the Pro Bowl incentive, you really think he won't play the whole year or reach the playing time incentives that are most likely in it? Barring a disaster, he's already penciled in as the day 1 starting corner.

That's because he could have gotten guaranteed money from a number of teams (one would assume) and passed on those deals for one where he has to prove his worth on the field.

Just because he has someone else paying him doesn't mean he didn't make some sacrifices to sign with the 49ers instead of someone like the Jags.
