I say Johnson.
Peterson's had the benefit of playing for a much better team with a much better QB and offensive line throughout Johnson's career, and Johnson's mostly outperformed him.
Switch their teams and this likely wouldn't even be a thread start.
I completely disagree.
Much better QB? That's remarkable considering that the Vikings have been looking for their franchise QB since... 2004-2005. His rookie year, he had more TDs than all the quarterbacks on the Vikings roster together.
Before Favre had one great season there, he had the honor of having Tavaris Jackson, Gus Frerotte, and Brooks Bollinger throwing him the football. I'll take old ass Kerry Collins and suicidal Vince Young over them any day.
And when Favre did come in, the O-Line had below average seasons. In 08 and 09, yes, the Vikings O-Line was godly, particularly the left side. But the past two years, the O-line has been remarkably below average in the run.
That's not to put down Chris Johnson, he's a phenomenal running back. But, to say that if they switched teams this wouldn't be a thread is absolutely absurd. You are completely discrediting Adrian Peterson because he gains so much yardage by destroying defenders. Your O-Line can't do this for you:

The last run against the Lions is the most impressive one. That should be a loss. He fights off linebackers and lineman and gets a four-yard gain. I'm sorry, O-Line or not, that's all Adrian Peterson. I wish I could find the highlight of when he dragged on of the Packers, who had his dead to rights, about twenty yards before he could bring him down.
I think Chris Johnson is great and his speed and agility is remarkable, but I want Peterson. The O-line doesn't matter for him. He's going to get yards, he going to run angry, he's going to find the endzone.
