This could get interesting. But, Gordon says he knows nothing of this and that he doesn't know what'll happen because players can't negotiate with teams until July 1.

Honestly, I don't think Gordon is worth $11M unless you're in desperate need of a scorer. IMO, he's more of a volume shooter and doesn't do much of anything on the defensive end. Would make some sense for Detroit though, as reportedly they're looking to trade Rip Hamilton.
 
They can't even talk to him yet, can they?

Chicago will get the first crack, and IMO, will get him.
 
His performance in that 1st round against Boston really boosted his value. This is very interesting if true.

Detroit is going balls out. haha.

No, not until July 1, I mentioned that. Chicago likely will but if they've only offered him $9M and $10M, you think they'll offer him $11-12M now? Detroit has much more financial freedom and can offer him a sweeter deal. It'll be a tough choice for BG.

IMO, I'll take Rip over BG but that's personal preference. Ben is younger but I just like Rip's midrange game.

I think that we will get him because we have to, there probably won't be anyone at SG in the draft worth replacing him with, and we have a need at PF to fill anyways.

We need him to stay if we want any shot at winning, so I think we will up our offer a little.
 
Good point. You probably know more about the situation up there in Chicago than I do. Gordon provides basically their main scoring threat, but Rose should be much better at scoring the basketball next season. This saga could get interesting.
 
There is also another article saying that Gordon neevr even got offered a deal from the pistons and that official offers dont start until july 1sts.....
 
For as great a shooter as he is he doesn't score a great amount. His career avergae is only 18.5PG and he put up 20 PG last year. Add that in to the fact that he's undersized, can't handle the ball, and offers nothing defensively, he's not worth 11m a year to a team like the Bulls.


I have no doubt guys like Salmons, Deng, Hinrich, and Rose can pick up Gordon scoring slack between them the Bulls save the money and can address more pressing needs like interior scoring.
 
Don't hold your breath on Tyrus, lol. I haven't seen his offensive game develop more and I see him as nothing more than a good energy guy off the bench.

A guy like Boozer would fit well for them - a big that can actually score in the post, draw doubles, and run the pick-and-roll with Rose.
 
The Pistons doing this makes no sense unless we're dealing Rip Hamilton. Actually this makes no sense at all for the Pistons. We don't need a shooter, we need a dominant big man. We can't be wasting our money on Ben Gordon, unless we're dealing Rip and someone else for a big man, or somehow trying to sign Boozer and Gordon, then dealing Rip.
