ALL SPORTS: Most Heartbreaking Game You Attended?

I put in the NFL section because most activity, but what was the most heartbreaking game you attended?

I'll hold mine off til later in the thread.

Probably this year's Lions Jets game. I consider it the turning point of our season because if we win that game, we would've been fighting for a playoff spot. We win that game and momentum is in our favor and we definitely beat the Bills and Cowboys and are 5-5 heading into the Thanksgiving game.

It also sucked because I knew we'd try and pass on 3rd and 6 with about 1:50 left instead of just running the ball and killing the clock. Not to mention Ford Field was electric during that game. I have never heard the place that loud and that into a game before. Its what I imagine a playoff game to feel like.

Ive been to a ton of NBA, NFL, and MLB games and could honestly say none of them have ever been heartbreaking. Ive seen alot of good games, but the none heartberaking.

But a heartbreaking moment from a sports event I attended was O's vs the halos ( I was in the 4th or 5th grade) in Baltimore's Memorial Stadium, the Angles were on an East coast trip so my dad got us tickets and we made the 3.5 horu drive to Baltimore. I was a HUGE Reggie Jackson fan, Reggie was actually my knickname growing up. Couldnt believe I was going to see my idol play. Well he wasnt in the starting lineup but did pinch hit. After the game we hung out and waited for the players for some autographs (Bob Costas threw us a ball before he did his pregame for TV- I still have that ball today with all the angels signatures on it from that day)

Well we waited and waited and finally Reggie came out, there were 4 of us waiting. One kid in a wheel chair, i was on crutches at the time and two other kids. Reggie so was rude and ignorant then I remember him telling us to back up and or "im not signing anything". Didnt know 4 kids could crowd you.

To look up to your idol like that and have him act like that was such a let down to a 8 year old kid. So that was heartbreaking.

I attended the 2000 Sugar Bowl between LSU and Illinois. It was heartbreaking in that I had spent a ton of money on tickets, and the game was a waste.

I'm the same as ManChild, I've seen a lot of good memories, not many bad ones. Ken Griffey was my childhood hero, and will forever be my favorite player. The Reds were in Philly for a series and Ken Griffey was sitting on homerun 599 and I couldn't of been any more excited. I went down to the park and got seats in the outfield, and as soon as I sat down in my seat, my friend texts me "Yo, Griffey isn't playing at all this series." I laughed it off, and sure enough, minutes later the starting lineups were announced and no Griffey. I was pretty mad that he didn't play, and was even more mad when he hit the home run in fucking Florida.

MSU most likely stands out the most there as we lost in OT.

Pro football wise..

Most likely the second game of the 1997 Bears-Packers series. Senser is probably the only one that even remembers this game but the Bears came into the game at 0-6.

Game was tied at 17-17 in the 4th and the Packers were driving. Favre fires a pass over the middle and Bryan Cox has it go right through his hands, missing a sure INT. I knew that was a bad sign. Favre leads them down the field. The Packers score and the Bears get the ball back and drive the length of the field for a TD with less than two minutes to go. Dave Wannstedt decides to go for two and the win rather than play for overtime at home. Kramer misses Raymont Harris in the flat and the Bears lose. FML.

BTW, I didn't ATTEND the game but I did see it on TV.

As far as one that I attended. The 49ers vs Falcons game in Atlanta last year. Nate Clements intercepts the ball, and instead of going down on a knee, he proceeds to try to score, ends up getting stripped and the Falcons march for the go head score. that game hurt..:yep:
