Am I the only one who can't watch a movie twice?

I've never bought a DVD or VHS because of this. The whole idea of buying a DVD is confusing to me. Even if I pirate a movie I delete it as soon as I watch it.

After I see a movie the first time I'm pretty much done with it except on extremely rare occasions. I can only think of one or two movies I've watched a second time. Not talking about a movie playing in the background on TV, but sitting down to watch it.

Same thing goes for TV shows and video games too for the most part.

I agree. I barely own any movies because there is no point in seeing something again when I have already seen it.

I have 85 blus and counting and have watched them all at least 3 times. You just have ti buy the good ones.

There are some movies I can watch over and over and never get tired of, and if I am channel surfing and come across them, I have to watch. Goodfellas, The Departed, The Breakup, are three that come to mind that I cant turn off.

But yeah, for the most part, most movies are one and done for me. But i'm really, really picky. I either absolutely love a movie, or fucking hate it. I rarely have no opinion or think anything is "meh".

What w2b said. There are some movies that you just have to stay with once you jump in them on cable.
But I enjoy watching movies multiple times because you get different things out of different viewings if the movie is good. Maybe a random line you never heard before, or a line delivery that makes you laugh, or just a really cool looking shot that you never appreciated your first time through.

I don't know, I'm into the shooting and editing of a movie so I can watch it multiple times and just focus on the execution. I get what you are saying though, and I am the same way with books. I never understood how someone could read a book twice.

Like w2btd said there are movies I will watch everytime I see them on a movie channel. I buy movies I know will be like that, as well as for the purpose of showing other people. There are movies that are good I don't really care to own because there wasn't a real desire to watch again.

I have seen a lot of movies way more than twice.

It has to be a really good movie for me to watch multiple times. Inception I watched like 3 times in 3 weeks.

Also, if its an old classic movie from my childhood, I can watch those over and over.

Other than that, its hard for me to watch a movie a 2nd time, like the OP said, once I've DLing and watched them, I delete them.

yea some movies never get old. I think buying Dumb & Dumber for just $5 is one of the smartest buys I've ever made. I don't buy movies very often. I think I only bought two that came out last year which was Inception & The Town. I LOVE The Town. Plus I got a nice, small collection of movies so if I'm hanging out with a girl having a movie night we can watch something she hasn't seen.


As for TV Shows there are some I can watch over and over. I've seen a lot of Law & Order SVU shows more than once. I got every season of That 70's Show on DVD and I've probably watched those in order atleast 10 times, never gets old.

I watched the same movies repeatedly when I was younger, but not really at all anymore.

Kind of a different reason than most people here it seems, there are just so many movies out there that I haven't seen but want to see that watching a movie I've already seen seems like a bit of a waste of time.

Maybe it's the old man who drank too much memory, but I'm the exact opposite.
The 2nd, 3rd (and sometimes 10th) viewings add perspective to a movie.
I agree the first viewing is the best, because you're surprised, but the multiple viewings give you a chance to pick up on stuff you may not have remembered during the first viewing.
