Update: Activision has indefinitely delayed the Xbox One version of The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
"We want to inform you that we are revising our release plans for ASM2 on Xbox One," the publisher confirmed in a statement issued to MCV. "When and whether ASM2 is released on Xbox One is TBD."
Original story: It's being reported that the Xbox One version of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has been delayed indefinitely.
Gamers Honest Truth claims to have received word from sources close to Activision that the Xbox One edition has been pushed back. The site also says that its Amazing Spider-Man 2 Xbox One pre-order has been cancelled by a local EB Games outlet.
The rumour is given legs by the fact that the Xbox One version has been removed from the game's official website, which is only currently displaying PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U and 3DS editions as available to pre-order.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 release date of May 2 attached to the other versions of the game has also been removed from Amazon UK's Xbox One product listing.
CVG has contacted publisher Activision for clarification on the status of the Xbox One version of the game.
As with its 2012 predecessor The Amazing Spider-Man, this year's Beenox developed sequel will feature open world, third-person action gameplay.
The title was announced at New York Comic Con in October 2013, where Beenox representatives said the game's Manhattan map has been expanded to facilitate greater player freedom, while also promising new abilities, upgrades and challenges.
