[PS3] Anyone Play MAG?

I know I may have missed the boat on this one a bit, but it's only $30 and I have a $20 Amazon credit and it sounds like it could be pretty cool. I couldn't find any other threads for this game.

So anyone play it?

I play it regularly. Most of the people on VSN that played jumped off due to faction imbalance. One faction was too strong. That has been changed and they are still supporting the game with new DLC and whatnot. If playing with VSN people is what you are looking for then don't get it. It's a different kind of FPS. It is keyed in on the player knowing his role on the TEAM. If a medic doesn't medic then the team is automatically at a disadvantage. The game though is fun. I usually trade in shooters not too long after I buy it(MW2 got sold 2 months after release).

Nah I'm just looking for a good game. I don't have any friends who play it so would that kill it for me since it's so team based?

At launch that would be a deal breaker since no one understood HOW important team work is. The leadership engine they are working with gives priority to people with mics so they can verbally send out orders so now most of the people on the game know what they gotta do going into the game. Initially it was everyone thinking they are playing COD and trying to run and gun and then they get pissy cuz they getting shot up and dead because there is no regenerative health(Medics must heal)

I guess I have a decision to make!

I really want to get this game, I'd just hate to get it and not be able to get into a crew or play with anybody I know, and that would pretty much kill it.

I still play pretty regularly. If you get it, you need to hook up with a clan to show you the ropes and walk you through the options of the skill tree, etc. It really makes the experience better for players who haven't gotten used to the game yet. Additionally, playing with randoms with no mics or communication skills makes the game that much tougher, and I think a lot of new players stop playing because they have a hard time going against some of the more experienced players/clans.
