Ok i thought i mayswell give it a shot doing a mock . Everybodys mocks seem quite similar and safe , some of my stuff might be bold but im willing to explain the reasons for each one.
This is all my opinion/what ive heard.
1.Detroit Lions - Matthew Stafford - QB
This is a bad year to own the number 1 pick in the draft but the Lions want to change the culture of things , qb is the fastest way to do this
2.St.Louis Rams - Jason Smith - LT
This seems pretty obvious , the Rams are looking for the best tackle overall in the draft and Smith is that guy.
3.Washington Redskins - Mark Sanchez - QB
The Chiefs dont want the pick and the Skins are DESPERATE for Sanchez it seems . It seems like all off-season Washington have been hunting for a qb even tho they have one in Campbell (First Cutler now Sanchez) . The Main reason i see this pick being traded for and not Cleveland`s is because of Seattles intrest in Sanchez.
4.Seattle Seahawks - Michael Crabtree - WR
I know the general thinking here would be that the Hawks would take Curry but i dont think so .... Jim Mora has already stated that he wants an offensive weapon wether that is HB or WR . Crabtree is the best wr in the draft IMO so it makes the most sense.
5.Cleveland Browns - Aaron Curry - LB
Browns dont want the pick but i think theyl end up taking Curry , i wouldnt be suprised if Cleveland trade out of this pick but with Sanchez gone i think the offers will be limited.
6.Cincy Bengals - B.J Raji - DT
Marvin Lewis has already stated that he doesnt want to go Oline with this pick ... is that a smokescreen so Monroe or Smith falls?? I dont know ...Possibly. I think the Bengals will go Defense though and when they do theres no where better to start than the Defensive Line.
7.Oakland Raiders - Darius Heyward Bey - WR
Heyward Bey might not be the best wr left at this point but hes most certainly the best pure athlete left at wr with this pick , DHB has the speed/height combo that Al Davis creams about at night .
8.Jacksonville Jaguars - Eugene Monroe - T
The Jags supposedly love this kid so this wont be a big suprise to me , alot of people see Jacksonville going WR here but im not one of them.
9.Green Bay Packers - Brian Orapko - DE/OLB
The Packers need somebody who can play DE or OLB in their newly formed 3-4 defense , I think the Packers would have liked to see Raji fall to here but with Cincy taking him i think theyl take Orapko .
10.New York Jets - Josh Freeman - QB
The Jets trade with the 49ers , this is one im not 100% on but the 49ers and Broncos intrest in Freeman is very obvious at this point , the Jets cant afford to see another QB get away from them so they make the move.
11.Buffalo Bills - Andre Smith - T
The Bills have a tackle hole to fill and cant afford to wait another round so they take who they think is the best tackle left which is Andre Smith.
12.Denver Broncos - Tyson Jackson - DE
Jackson fits perfectly into Denvers defense ... i dont think the Broncos lose any sleep over this pick.
13.Kansas City Cheifs (Via trade with Skins) - Aaron Maybin - OLB
A few "experts" have been saying for weeks that Maybin is another Terrell Suggs type player , KC need some pass rush from OLB so this makes sense.
14.New Orleans Saints - Malcolm Jenkins - CB
Mckenzie is gone , New Orleans have no cover at corner so they take Jenkins in an attempt to bring some energy to the defensive backfeild.
15.Houston Texans - Robert Ayers - DE
The Texans need a DE to take some pressure away from Williams and this is the man they choose . The Texans steal him away from their divisional rivals the Titans who have shown alot of intrest in Ayers.
16.San Diego Chargers - Ray Maualuga (sp?) - LB
The Chargers are almost certainly going to go MLB or HB with this pick , i just think the money tied up in LT and Sproles will be enough for them to wait another round for a HB.
17.San Fran (Via the Jets trade) - Michael Oher - T
San Fran are quite pleased to see Oher fall this low and have no problems snapping him up.
18.Denver Broncos - Clay Matthews - OLB
The Broncos need some pass rush , they see the fact that Williams can groom him into a good OLB .
19.Tampa Bay Buccaners - Peria Jerry - DT
The Bucs are a little dissapointed that they were unable to trade up for a qb but the fact is they still need more depth at the Defensive Line so they choose Jerry who should be a good pick for a tampa 2 style D.
20.Detroit Lions - Brian Cushing - OLB
The Lions orignally thought OT here but when they see Cushing fall they cant help but snap him up.
21. Philadelphia Eagles - Donald Brown - RB
Yes i know this is a shocking pick but wait .... the Eagles love this kid , he knows the West Coast system already and has great potential . They beleive he can come in and back up Westbrook almost straight away.
22.Minnesota Vikings - CB Vontae Davis - CB
The Vikes need some CB help desperatly , many scouts feel that Davis has the best upside of all the corners in the draft and the Vikes agree.
23. New England Patriots - OLB Larry English
This may be a stretch for English to be drafted at 23 but when New England likes a player they like him , many people saw Mayo as a "reach" but the Pats dont care.
24. Atlanta Falcons - "Ziggy" Hood - DT
The Falcons need help stopping the run and that is something Hood can do , i would have said Pettigrew to Atlanta but now they have Tony G
25. Miami Dolphins - Kenny Britt - WR
The Dolphins want another offensive threat and Britt makes the most sense ... Harvin and Maclin are both more speed type wrs which isint that useful when your qb is Chad Pennington.
26. Baltimore Ravens - Jeremy Maclin - WR
Some may call this a steal for Baltimore , im not too sold on Maclin but i think this is where the Ravens will go , theyd of like to have seen Britt fall but since he didnt Maclin will do just fine
27.Indy Colts - Percy Harvin - WR
The general feeling around Indy is if Jerry and Hood are gone they will go WR or HB , Harvin will add a much needed return game as well as being a slot wr . The Colts like to keep their wrs in 3s so i wouldnt be suprised by this pick at all
28. Buffalo Bills - Brandon Pettigrew - TE
The Bills are willing to help out Edwards in any way possible , Pettigrew is also a good pick in terms of value at pick 28.
29.New York Giants - Hakeem Nicks - WR
The Giants may end up trading with the Browns , i dont know but if they are to pick at 29 i can see Nicks going to New York very easily
30.Tennessee Titans - Alfonso Smith - CB
The Titans will go defense imo seeing that most of the wrs theyd of liked are gone . Smith is a corner that should fit into the Titans defense without too much trouble .
31.Arizona Cardinals - Knowshon Moreno - HB
The Cards will probably be deciding between Moreno and Wells at this point , i just think the added elusiveness (sp?) of Moreno will tip the balance .
32. Pittsburgh Steelers - Ebon Britton - T
The Steelers need to go oline , many expected Britton to be gone at this point so the Steelers wont mind snapping him up at all.
