Assassin's Creed: Ezio Trilogy releasing for PS3

Today, Sony and Ubisoft revealed that Assassin’s Creed: Ezio Trilogy will be released for PlayStation 3 this November. It's a PS3 exclusive.

The trilogy combines Assassin’s Creed II, Assassin’s Creed: Revelations and Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood into one collection, and will be released in North America on November 13th. It will cost $39.99. Its release timing and price in other territories remains to be seen.

While the Ezio Trilogy won’t quite make it to stores in time for Assassin’s Creed III (which launches Stateside on October 30th), it appears that Ubisoft is still cognizant of trying to catch folks up on the AC games they might have missed.

Not bad for someone that wants to play the series, might pick it up over the summer when I have nothing to do to beat it again, was a fun series.

Lol, now this one I'll agree with you 100%. Although I'm sure there will be some newcomers to the series when AC3 drops, and a $30 price tag for 3 of the 4 games isn't bad at all.

Maybe it's just me but this seems like such a waste of a trilogy. All of those games can be had for cheap anyway and it doesn't appear this collection is coming with anything additional. I would hope it at least comes with all the DLC.

Yeah I guess it does. If someone wants them new, it's definitely a better deal than buying them separate at a normal retailer. However, this is obviously just Ubisoft trying to milk a little more money out of their older games in the series with AC3 coming out.

Actually pretty smart, seeing it comes out a lil after, let's say you have never played AC, go to a friend's house, he is playin AC3, looks cool, you wanna get caught up and know nothing of the series why not spend 40$ on three games :dunno:

B/c the other actually seems like a well put together, nice collection. Plus it just seems like a weird collection with them putting in games 2-4. The ME collection seems more along the lines of when movie series put out a nice boxed set. I know, both of these are cash grabs, of course. I guess I'm just more accepting of one that's at least thought and has some effort put behind it like the ME collection. Plus, even though it's Ezio's story, a collection of games 2-4 is just weird, especially since Altair is a pretty big part of the story in Revelations.

nah, i get it...i just think this trend of sequals, box sets and remakes is the going to the way of the future. Chrispy posted this in the funny pics thread and i thought it was a perfect description of the gaming industry

Cashing in on Ezio being one of the more popular characters of this console generation. Disagree with it all you want, but it's a way for them to make money.

Unless you have an extreme amount of patience, that would be advisable. Just read the plot summary at Wikipedia or someplace. I know I didn't finish it, and I 100% completed things in the Ezio trilogy.

If you play the first AC, just play the story. The side stuff is agonizing and ultra repetitive.

If I recall correctly, you have to do at least some of the side missions to unlock the main missions, right?

Umm, I can't recall to be honest. The worst part would be for anyone who's played AC2 tho, cause the movement is much more limited in AC1.

the one thing that really turned me off to AC2 was how you had to hold the trigger to make him run. Did they change that or allow custom controls in the follow up games? i know its stupid and a small thing, but i felt like i was getting carpel tunnel from that shit

I'm pretty sure you did have to do at least SOME of the side missions in order to build up your meter er to determine where the next target was, or something like that.
