A lot of guys don't seem to know how much changing the sweetspot on your clubs changes this game.
You must have "expert" driver, woods, irons and wedges to do it.
And, trust me, if you want realistic golf, you will do it.
Anyway ... here's the master's post from Operation Sports:

Anyway ... here's the master's post from Operation Sports:
I was thinking of starting a thread on this topic, seeing there's a couple of things to watch out for.
First off, not all the club sweetspots play the same. Irons are the most sensitive and require a large sweetspot, while wedges aren't sensitive at all. Drivers and woods fall somewhere in the middle.
I've spent probably three hours testing the sweetspot response with each club. I'll post my settings, but let me explain what I've been attempting to achieve. I'm trying to set the sweetspot so there's a feeling of randomness wth the accuracy, and enough play to, for example, miss the fairway on either side without completely duffing the shot. And that's what happens if the sweetspot is set too low: shots literally travel sideways and it becomes next-to-impossible to keep the shot straight.
Another consideration when tuning, is club distances in relation to each other. If the distances aren't tuned properly, you'll be left with a huge distance gap between your woods and irons, and your irons and wedges. Finding a balance with this aspect of the tuning process is something that also needs to be taken into consideration.
I'm using Expert clubs which is how one is able to lower the sweetspot to 0. Keep in mind that Loft also affects distances:
Driver -- Power 75%, Workability 100%, Loft 10.0 (50%) = Sweetspot 20%
Woods -- Power 84%, Workability 95%, Loft +1.0 (70%) = Sweetspot 13%
Irons -- Power 47%, Workability 97%, Loft +2.5 (75%) = Sweetspot 42%
Wedges -- Power 100%, Workability 100%, Loft +4.5 (70%) = Sweetspot 0%
FYI, my club distances/gaps with the above settings are:
Driver = 276 yards
3 wood = 238
7 Wood = 216
3 iron = 193
5 iron = 167
7 Iron = 150
9 Iron = 130
AWedge = 116
GWedge = 106
SWedge = 99
LBwedge = 84
Lwedge = 70
HLWedge = 55
Disclaimer: I'm not saying anyone will agree with my observations, but I'm posting them anyway!![]()
