So in a nutshell, Texas will play for BCS Title because they were preseason no 2., Boise was 10th ( i think), TCU was no. 17; Cincinnati was unranked.

SMH smh smh! Got to love this system. The BCS said there would be no playoff because "the regular season was a playoff and you had to win all your games".....5 teams finish the season undefeated and 3 will get left out even though they did what the BCS said they had to do.

Texas is a BCS team in one of the better BCS conferences, have had consistent success over the last handful of years, and went undefeated. Their #2 ranking was deserved pre-season, and earned during the season. Even if they had started lower, they would still beat out TCU, Cincinnti, and Boise St. in the polls.

Alabama and Florida actually beat legit opponents inside their conference, unlike the Longhorns who beat an Oklahoma team, who were down their two best players, in a 16-13 "thriller", and beat an Oklahoma State team missing one of the country's biggest playmakers in Dez Bryant.

P.S.: 8 of the 12 SEC team finished with 7 or less wins. In fact, with the exception of the two big dogs in the SEC, the Big XII and SEC were eerily similar as far as the mid and lower level records were concerned. But hey, Texas plays in a shitty conference, and Alabama has to play the uber-hard SEC teams.

Alabama played 3 shit teams yes, but Texas played four, with the best of them finishing 2nd in the conference USA while Alabama's best opponent finished ranked in the top 15 and was #7 when they played. I'd say that game alone vaults their schedule into pretty much being harder than yours.

What a poor comparison... first off Southern Cal's 2005 defense was no where as good as good as this Alabama one (That USC defense was still reeling from losing a ton of talent to the draft the year before), and your offensive talent isn't as good as that squad. Colt and VY are probably equal, but that Texas team had playmakers like Limas Sweed, Romance Taylor, Jamaal Charles, etc. as well as one of the best offensive lines in the nation at the time.

But if we want to continue to throw out random games I guess I can reference the 2002 national championship game with our upcoming battle with Oregon...

I never said Alabama's schedule wasn't harder than ours. What I'm trying to say is that every single BCS team worth a shit puts together a soft OOC schedule in what can essentially be looked at as preseason or warm-up games with the exception of one or two games every once in a while. But for some reason, when Texas does it, people all of the sudden have a problem.

I'm not comparing the two teams, I'm comparing the situation. People aren't giving Texas a shot in hell...they get no credit for their talent or their record. This game will be closer than people think.

So...because Alabama performed well against other teams, the game against Auburn does nothing to lessen anyone's opinion of them. But Texas plays one of the nation's top defenses anchored by the best defensive player in college football, and because we won an extremely close contest, we are now shit.

The point I'm trying to make is that people like to act like all twelve teams in the SEC are national title contenders every single year, that they leaps and bounds better than any other conference...and it's simply not true. They're the most competitive conference in the NCAA, but not so fucking amazing that they're on a whole new level.

It's because people perceive the SEC to be a far and away tougher conference than the Big 12 or any other conference for that matter. Therefore, people want to see non-SEC teams schedule quality OOC matchups. The easiest way to to quell that notion is for Texas to beat Alabama.
