Patricky is a problem. I really hope he and Alvarez square off. That fight has so much potential.

Hawn won the fight with the takedown in the last thirty seconds, despite getting outstruck in the third. I thought Good was going to walk away with the win until that takedown.

Alvarez didn't exactly run through Curran, but he put on a boxing clinic. He looked strong from beginning to end. Those body shots looked like hell. Curran showed really good TDD, but he wasn't aggressive enough when he was clearly down on the cards.

Seemed like Curran was being patient and looking for that one big shot that never came. Weird fight in the sense that he spent the majority of the 25-minutes as a punching bag. I'm sure he was confused by Alvarez's footwork and head movement, but he didn't try to win that fight IMO. All the power to him though for lasting the 25 minutes...and that TDD was damn good. First time Eddie took him down (think it was the 3rd), tried to go for the back IIRC and Curran quickly got back up. Impressive.

Good/Hawn, I figured Good could win but it wasn't shocking Hawn did. Disappointing for Good (although the judge who scored it 30-27 Hawn...how did Good lose the first round?) because he is still like a turtle on its back when it comes to fighting off his back. You would imagine he would drill non-stop that aspect...

Assuming Hieron wins...a Hieron/Hawn match-up looks pretty interesting on paper. You figure Hieron should be able to outbox him but whether he can outmuscle him on the ground...:?:

Those Pitbull Brothers are scary fighters. Patricky just did away with Imada unlike anyone else over the past few years. Between his striking and what's being said is dominant jiu-jitsu, a fight with Alvarez would be awesome.

Don't count out Michael Chandler though, his wrestling is niiiiiice.

Rebney told Sherdog, Alvarez's next title defense will likely be in August against the current tournament winner.

The only guy in the tourney remaining who could give Alvarez a test may be Patricky. Chandler has his wrestling but Alvarez is more of a complete fighter.

Bellator Fighting Championships found a new television home for its fourth season in MTV2.

Although the move hasn’t been a ratings bonanza for the promotion or the network, Bellator has carved out a small niche that represents an increase in MTV2’s ratings in the timeslot.

Bellator 35, the promotion’s debut event on the network, drew 200,000 viewers to its live telecast and another 127,000 in an immediate replay. Industry insiders say that show’s draw was good enough for anywhere from an 80 to 133-percent increase in MTV2’s various key advertiser demographics.

Bellator’s follow-up performances haven’t rated as high as the opener. Saturday night’s Bellator 39, featuring lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez’s first title defense, against Pat Curran, was the fifth event of a 12-week season. Bellator 39 drew an initial audience of 174,000, with 89,000 more tuning in to the replay. While that is a little lower than the premier, it represents a slight uptick over last week’s Bellator 38, which drew 150,000 viewers initially, and 90,000 with the repeat performance.
