Bellator 69 smokes the UFC on Fuel 3

Bellator 69 Draws Season-High 209,000 Viewers.

"Bellator Fighting Championships posted a season high in the ratings department last Friday night, averaging 209,000 viewers for its Bellator 69 broadcast on MTV2.

The figure tops the previous high of 175,000 viewers set last month by Bellator 64. Sherdog.com confirmed the figure Tuesday with an industry source.

Bellator 69 took place at L’Auberge du Lac Casino in Lake Charles, La., and was headlined by a middleweight tournament final between Maiquel Falcao and Andreas Spang. Falcao snatched a unanimous decision from the Swede to earn a shot at the vacant 185-pound title against two-time tournament champion Alexander Shlemenko.

A welterweight semifinal pitting Karl Amoussou against David Rickels was also featured during the MTV2 broadcast, as Amoussou narrowly advanced to the Season 6 finals by earning a split decision over “The Caveman.” Amoussou will lock horns with Bryan Baker this summer to decide who will next challenge welterweight kingpin Ben Askren.

Rounding out the televised portion of the card was a women’s strawweight affair between Megumi Fujii and Jessica Aguilar, as well as a heavyweight collision showcasing Abe Wagner and Mark Holata. Aguilar handed “Mega Megu” just her second career defeat in a unanimous judges’ verdict, while Holata forced Wagner to submit to an Achilles lock in 2:24."

I read that Spikes MMA Uncensored is getting over 500k viewers and the UFC Primetime shows on FX get around 540k, interesting how much Spike can still draw without any new MMA content besides a news show

Once Bellator gets on they can really ramp things up in the MMA department, Uncensored needs to do more Bellator related stuff to get people interested

rob, I dont know is you missed it, but the MMA Uncensored with King Mo last week after he signed with Bellator was the highest rated MMA Uncensored ever, beating out episodes with GSP, Rashad, etc.

The truth of the matter is, people will make it UFC vs Bellator in January, but to me the end game is not overtaking UFC, because that will either never happen or take years & years to happen. The end game for me, is that Bellator succeeds and thrives in a better environment, and we as fans have two viable major league MMA promotions to watch.

I will never understand the mindset of the UFC fans who shit on other promotions and celebrate their demise. Why do you want less places to watch MMA, why do you want less variety?

When was MMA most exciting? When UFC & PRIDE were thriving, and when UFC & Strikeforce/EliteXC were thriving. People get into talking about dream fights, fighters jump from org to org to keep things fresh, and competition pushes everyone.

But no, lets get excited when Zuffa buys everybody out and builds a giant roster of 300 fighters who all get lost in the shuffle. That's awesome for the sport.

The 'Dream fights' rarely happen aftet these buy outs anyway, look at the PRIDE debacle, handled so poorly

The SF one is just as bad and they pretty much killed any SF hype in the process, bad owners with a crappy match makes and 'system' wont give you the fights you want anyway

PRIDE had bigger dream fights in a quarter the time they were even around compared to the UFC, think about that
