Something Clever
With the recent rise of SonicRican (and the drastic lowering of VSNs average IQ as a result) there is some serious competition for the biggest single player homer (homo) on VSN.
Without any further ado, let me introduce the competitors.
Thunderhorse
Spreading the word of Clint Session on asinine chatbox discussion and one post at a time, Thunderhorse was, to my knowledge, the single greatest one player homo on VSN. For at least teo weeks straight, he would spend every waking moment trolling the cb trying to coax unwary passersby into an argument over who the best LB in the AFC was. The discussion generally went something like this.
TH: Clint Session is the best linebacker in the AFC.
Random Passerby: No, he isnt. Several players are better for these logical, statistically and critically backed reasons. These reasons include number of tackles, sacks, interceptions, etc. Overall defensive performance. Strength against the run of the players teams defense. Number of Pro Bowls. You name it.
TH: Nope, Clint Session is the best LB in the AFC.
RP: Why? Give me one logical reason.
TH: Because Clint Session is the best LB in the AFC.
RP: So would would take Session over, say, Ray Lewis.
TH: Yes, Ray Lewis couldnt play 4-3 Cover 2 OLB as well as Session, therefore Session is better.
RP: So you're saying Session is the best 4-3 Cover 2 OLB in the AFC?
TH: No, he is the best LB in the AFC.
RP: So even though Ray Lewis is a better tackler, has more tackles, more sacks, is a better pass rusher, etc than Clint Session, Session is better?
TH: Yes, stats don't matter, Lewis can't cover as well as Session, Session is better.
RP: Even though Lewis is better at almost everything else?
TH: Clint Session is the best LB in the AFC.
RP: Logs off.
TH: The word of Session has successfully been spread to one more person.
vs
SonicRican
Quite the up and comer, after getting the boot from TGL, SonicRican come over to this vastly superior website and tricked everyone with his first post, asking whether or not Case Keenum has what it takes to be the #1 overall pick in the 2011 draft. The post was succinct, straightforward, and showed some potential. After that, it all went to hell. Every post thereafter in the thread he created involved the resting of Colt Brennan's balls on SonicRican's chin. Just like ThunderHorse, despite significant statistical and anecdotal evidence, SonicRican continued to spout his belief that the single greatest draft snub in NFL history was Colt Brennan not going #1 overall in the NFL Draft. He continued to say that the only reason this is so is because NFL teams hate small schools, even though they produce just as good players as the bigger name schools. Despite the successes and draft status of players like Joe Flacco, Tarvaris Jackson, Ben Roethlisberger, Jay Cutler, Chad Pennington, David Carr, Alex Smith, and others, clearly there is a slight against small schools. If given a chance, Brennan might be able to duplicate such tremendous stats as he posted in last years preseason where "he ooks like Peyton Manning in his preseason games. smh" What tremendous stats, you may ask. Why these of course:
23/43 (53%), had 5.8 ypa, 1 td-3 int
And he's able to do that against other, clearly slighted, amazingly talented small school players that make up the second and third team defenses used in the preseason. Imagine what he could do against the obviously inferior big name school first teamers. If he was given the chance to pass 30 times a game in a 16 game NFL season, he could post such tremendous season stats as these.
254/480, 2784 yds, 11 tds, 33 ints*
*These numbers represent the existing data extrapolated over a 16 game NFL season where Brennan was given 30 chances to throw per game.
If those arent HOF worthy, I dont know what is.
I leave it up to you, my VSN brethren, who is the single greatest single player homo on these boards?
Without any further ado, let me introduce the competitors.
