They arent going to compete for a title with him anyways , they needed to add to compete 100% for something and that is something they clearly wernt willing to do

It's obvious the trading of Boozer is a money issue knowing he likely won't resign with them after this year and if they can get Tyrus Thomas, who while not great, can be under control for another 2 years by picking up his rookie player option.

Or are you saying people don't understand the business side and it's not as cut and dry as "why are they trading that guy, stupid trade, etc." ?

I don't know where this "Won't resign with them" talk is coming from. Booz could of opted out of Utah this season. Just by not using his option he showed loyalty to a city (for the first time in his career).
 
They aren't really taking that much of a hit talent-wise despite it being a financial deal anyways. They would rather focus on Milsap being a fixture of the future, and they don't want Boozer to get in the way.

It's coming from the fact he won't resign with them. He knows he's likely to get a lot more on the open market in 2010 when the market is going to explode and the going rates to make sure you get a top-tier FA is going to be huge.

Yeah it should read "I duno IF ppl know about the business side", not "how they know". Just as you said in your second point, its not always as simple as "oh dont trade him, hes good, and you're dumb for doing it". Theres a business side to everything..

In 2010 Boozer will not be a top-tier free agent. He'll be that second tier guy. He won't get max money, comparing the two FA years I would think a guy like Booz would get more money this year as this free agency class is weak compared to the 2010 free agency class.
 
If this trade goes through the way I'd like to see it the Bulls look damn solid and look to be a better team than last year.

The rumors are that Portland is going to throw some big money at Milsap to avoid the Jazz being able to or wanting to match...I believe the term being thrown around is "toxic contract". However, I'm not really sure why Portland would want to throw big money at what amounts to a backup PF, but ..........

I'd trade to con the Blazers to give us Blake though. He comes off the books too leaving us with something like 13-14 million in space. :)
 
Actually, my fault... I meant they would only commit to around 13 million and with a cap around 51-52 million we'd be sitting pretty .

This is still before Salmon's option and Rose's option gets picked up though, so it's more likely we're looking at around 28 million in commitments under a 51-56 million cap.
