I just don't see how you could hold a Super Bowl in London .. aside from the obvious reasons mentioned with it being our sport and all that.. but lets say you have the game start at 6 PM London Time.. thats 1PM Eastern time and 10 AM Pacific. If you accommodate the U.S. Market (aka the main source of who is interested in the game) and push this game into primetime.. lets say the typical 6:30PM ish start .. London time you would be looking at 11:30PM for the kickoff, with the game probably ending close to 4 in the morning over there.

So either, you run the Super Bowl early in the day.. which to me kind of kills a lot of the buzz around it.. even though it'd be nice to chop down the 12 hour pregame show.. or you kick off late.. causing the players to likely be exhausted and play a shitty game.. or you play it normal, only tape delay it.. which again.. is freakin lame.

There's just no good way to have it. And because this detail can't be worked out, I don't even see the point of trying to make every other problem work too.

Alot of them "euro fags" enjoy rugby too which is nearly as physical as the NFL . There is also a huge u.k base who love the NFL over here so i doubt many of the people who loving "seeing people flop all over" would even be watching it or "sharing it" with you.

And Basketball allows less contact than soccer and ive seen as much flopping and crying from Paul Pierce as i have from any soccer player on the planet.

I dont think the SB should ever come to London cause it would feel wrong but your basicly saying europeans or people in the u.k shouldnt enjoy the NFL because its american right? Stupid as fuck.

The U.K (sky sports) currently has a huge deal with the NFL so this is most probably Godell just trying to keep them sweet which i also think is dumb.

You would think that people would be happy to see the sport that they love getting more attention all over the world ... i guess not.

I know when i hear about millions and billions of people watching th soccer team that i support play i think its pretty cool.

I really have no problem with it. When I was watching the Super Bowl this year, I really would not have been able to tell if the guy in the stands was a millionaire from the US or England. Its not like I'd be able to go anyways and in many cases, you cannot even get near the area without being a ticket holder, at least that was the case when I was in Detroit.

If it is done right, it would be fine in my book.

There is really no way to do this without ruining it. With the time difference and just the fact that it is in London(no offense) it just does not seem right.

Also an overseas expansion for any sport is extremely hard and sort of pointless. Flying across the country is hard and tiring enough for players, think about having to travel overseas. Now if your going to have a pure Europe league then it could work but it would not be welcome by a lot of players. It would not make much sense for the NBA to have a Euro NBA league for the simple fact that their is basketball in Europe. If London wanted a football league they would have made one.

That's true.

It would be a huge kick in the teeth for those cities to be denied a Superbowl just because of the weather only to watch a bunch of players standing around Wembley at 2 o'clock on a February morning in the freezing cold, fog and relentless drizzle.

January/February weather here is by far the most miserable, and the weather here is generally pretty miserable anyway.

Unless they move it to Cardiff of course.

Cardiff would make sense as they can actually close the roof. I'm not sure if anyone's told Goodell that the roof at Wembley doesn't actually close the whole way, and the SB would be played in some of the worst weather ever. On a pitch designed for soccer.

Even then, the Millennium Stadium gets freezing cold even with the roof shut.

Plus the fact that First Great Western would still insist on running the last train at 10:30pm, Superbowl or no Superbowl.

Would you pay almost full price tickets to watch 3rd string talent play?? The U.K wasnt intrested in Europe the same way it wasnt in pre-season games because they knew it wasnt the real thing , the talent pool in the NFL isint as big as people think. Nobody wants to pay to watch 3rd and 4th string talent on a freezing cold Sunday Afternoon

Soon as a real game came over to England , 500,000 people applied for tickets and most people who were there said it was almost like a superbowl atomasphere at the game and that was the Dolphins v Giants then Saints v Chargers , hardly the most exciting games ever seen

I still think the superbowl should stay in America , but some of you guys are making it sound like people in Europe shouldnt enjoy the NFL just because NFL Europe failed.
