Most Anticipated Movies of Q1 (Jan-Feb-Mar)
#9 | Drive Angry 3D (Feb 25)
Regardless of all the shitty movies Nicolas Cage has done and continues to do, there is a completely different scale you judge him on. His movies tend to either be decent family friendly films or they go balls to the walls stupid that tend to be awesome when they shouldn’t be. The title alone lets you know it’s the latter. Throw in the greasy blonde animal on Cage’s head and it’s bound to be a winner. Did I mention Cage’s character escaped Hell as well to get his revenge? Win. Win.
#8 | Take Me Home Tonight (March 4)
That 70’s show was a funny show. Since it went off the air, Eric Forman has not found another successful gig. (Spiderman 3 blah) Well what better way to fix that then to reteam with the writers of that show and have a coming of age comedy set in the 80s. It’s practically made for him. Also, the film got slapped with an R rating for excessive amount of cocaine use.
#7 |Apollo 18 (March 4)
Nothing is really known about the movie other than the small synopsis and the teaser poster but that doesn’t stop the excitement. I’ve always been a fan of alternative history and the found footage genre can get a breath of fresh air with a non-horror plotline. It could very well end up being exactly like the disappointing movie Monsters, but at the same time can’t be any worse.
#6 | The Dilemma (Jan 14)
Plain and simple Ron Howard is a great director when he picks the right project. Vince Vaughn is a very funny guy when he picks the right project. This project looks right. It’s got a totally relatable subject matter, got Kevin James not acting like a fat dumbass, and a great first trailer that makes it look fairly funny while also having a meaningful plotline.
#5 | The Lincoln Lawyer (Mar 18)
Once upon a time Matthew McConaughey was a promising star in the making. Then he went off and started making romantic comedies and lost all form of respect he had as an actor. The Lincoln Lawyer looks different. It puts McConaughey in a role he hasn’t been in since A Time to Kill. It could be the film that breaks him out of that terrible shell he has built for himself.
#4 | Battle: Los Angeles (Mar 11)
Forget that shitty Skyline movie. This has nothing to do with that. This is a much bigger film that actually has Sony backing it up. It is being touted as one of the better approaches to an alien invasion and stars one of the most underrated actors in Aaron Eckheart. The first trailer was a great teaser, revealing almost nothing then tiny glimpses of the threat humanity faces. Hopefully the rest is just as good.
#3 | Sucker Punch (Mar 25)
[quot]In this mind-warping action thriller, Baby Doll (Emily Browning), a girl slated for lobotomy in a 1950s-era asylum, leads a group of young female inmates in an attempt to escape both their mental fantasy worlds and the actual institution where they are prisoners. To accomplish her plan, Baby Doll must steal five objects -- but is the man who's trying to stop her real, or a figment of her imagination?][/quote]
Zack Snyder + insane visuals + hot woman = nuff said.
#2 | The Adjustment Bureau (Mar 4)
This movie is setting up to be a big disappointment. Its been delayed twice now, but finally has a rock solid release date. It features two great lead with Damon and Blunt, and has one of the best trailers I saw in 2010. Though the movies are nothing alike, it reminds me of Shutter Island because that as well was plagued by delays and a questionable quality, but ended up doing just fine.
#1 | Paul (Mar 18)
Simon Pegg and Nick Frost collaboration. Lets hope third time is the charm.

Special Spot | The Green Hornet (Jan 14)
It would have made the list, but I already saw it and loved it.

Honorable Mentions: The Mechanic | The Other Woman | Unknown | Hall Pass | Barney’s Version
#9 | Drive Angry 3D (Feb 25)

Career criminal Milton (Nicolas Cage) breaks out of prison to pursue the cult members who killed his daughter and kidnapped her baby. Milton is in turn chased by a serial killer (William Fichtner) who's determined to catch him before he can find redemption. Aiding Milton in his quest is Piper (Amber Heard), a comely waitress who supplies him with a muscle car that he uses to outrace the police that are hot on his trail.
#8 | Take Me Home Tonight (March 4)

From the writers of "That '70s Show" comes this retro dramatic comedy set a decade later, in the financial boom of the late 1980s, about a recent college grad trying to figure out what to do with his life. Amid the goings-on at a raucous Labor Day party, brilliant but underemployed Matt Franklin (Topher Grace) learns a slew of lessons about life and love.
That 70’s show was a funny show. Since it went off the air, Eric Forman has not found another successful gig. (Spiderman 3 blah) Well what better way to fix that then to reteam with the writers of that show and have a coming of age comedy set in the 80s. It’s practically made for him. #7 |Apollo 18 (March 4)

Apollo 18 is the latest movie to rely on found footage to tell its story. The plot will revolve around recently discovered video shot by the crew of an abandoned moon mission from the early 70s. NASA
claims that the mission never took place, but this new discovery reveals the existence of alien life and explains why NASA has hidden the footage for all of these years.

Oscar-winning director Ron Howard serves up a delicious comedy about two best friends and business partners -- Ronny (Vince Vaughn) and Nick (Kevin James) -- who are about to land a fantastic deal when Ronny learns something about Nick's wife, Geneva (Winona Ryder), that rocks his world. Ronny turns amateur sleuth to determine whether Geneva's cheating on Nick and learns that telling a friend the truth is even more difficult than concealing it.

A lawyer conducts business from the back of his Lincoln town car while representing a high-profile client in Beverly Hills.

Led by their skillful staff sergeant (Aaron Eckhart), a platoon of gutsy Marines, including Santos (Michelle Rodriguez), Simmons (Taylor Handley) and Lockett (Cory Hardrict), fight to protect all humankind from astonishingly powerful aliens who've suddenly invaded Los Angeles.

#2 | The Adjustment Bureau (Mar 4)

A congressman (Matt Damon) who's a rising star on the political scene finds himself entranced by a beautiful ballerina (Emily Blunt), but mysterious circumstances ensure that their love affair is predestined to be a non-starter.
This movie is setting up to be a big disappointment. Its been delayed twice now, but finally has a rock solid release date. It features two great lead with Damon and Blunt, and has one of the best trailers I saw in 2010. #1 | Paul (Mar 18)

Nick Frost and Simon Pegg star as two science-fiction freaks who, while on a quest to discover what lies at the heart of Nevada's infamous Area 51, cross paths with an alien (voice of Seth Rogen) on the run from earthly authorities.
Simon Pegg and Nick Frost collaboration. Lets hope third time is the charm.
