The Vancouver Canucks have come to terms on a six-year, $27.6 contract with free agent defenceman Jason Garrison.
The 27-year-old set career-highs with 16 goals and 17 assists in 77 games with the Florida Panthers in 2011-12.
Originally signed as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Minnesota-Duluth by the Panthers in 2008, Garrison has scored 23 goals and 36 assists in 190 career games.
He set the Panthers single-season record for goals by a defenceman this past season.

I am surprised that the Panthers let Garrison walk, but the Canucks add another very good defenseman to their blueline at an affordable price.
