ironic isnt it...ferry was the original bad contract....they traded ron harper for ferry and paid him 10 years 30 million which at the time was huge money. He never lived up to the hype

but for some reason, cavs fan loved him. I guess they just wanted so badly to him him play well but he was never gonan be the guy they wanted

kinda shocked by this signing. Makes no sense to me. Varejo has no offense and while he gives energy, and can flop like no one else, he is not a player the cavs needed to invest in. Lets hope for a sign and trade
 
I just don't get this at all unless Lebron and Varejao are best buds off the court and keeping AJ is the only way to keep Lebron happy. But I doubt that that is likely.

I actually think this was a big factor.. LeBron wanting him to stay in Cleveland, and them being good friends off the court.
 
At first I'm thinking to myself "What the fuck is Danny Ferry doing?" then I remember, and everyone else should. The dude is in Cleveland, Ohio. Attractions: Sports Teams/Big Lake. That's it. Cleveland is not Los Angeles, New York City, or Miami. This isn't Boston home of the 17 time NBA Champions.

This is Cleveland. The "never won a championship, put your hopes on one man's back" Cleveland.

He tried getting the big names, they don't want to come to Cleveland. There's nothing good about Cleveland in the media eye other than it's a short flight to New York, Miami, and a ferry away from Canada.

Everyone that would come here needs to shed an ego and play second, third, fourth fiddle to LeBron. The guys that snubbed Cleveland? They'll go on and do what they do, it doesn't make them any less of talents in my eyes since they didn't come to Cleveland, I just wish they (Trevor Ariza) would have.

So when I see this contract and I see this money...and I continue reading.

All right, so you want to give Cleveland an "F" and you want Danny Ferry's head? Go for it, and go get it. I'm taking it FWIW, Cleveland is a small market team that didn't attract the stars this year.

Cleveland has a lot of young talent, they got depth where they need it. They filled the holes they needed. Not with the talent they wanted, but the holes are filled. Yes the East is and always will be a mountain to climb.

I'll judge the off-season when it needs to be judged. The end of next season.

No they don't REALLY have to.

And I'm not going to say Andy isn't worth that much because I don't know how teams "value" players. At first look this contract is bogus. They'll be paying 8M+/Year for a PF who can start but SHOULD be on the bench. They're just making sure that Andy committed to something, that he wasn't going to be a hold out or a distraction for the next five seasons.

Either way you look at it GOOD or BAD for the next five years the Cavaliers have a PF on their roster. And it's one less position in the next five years to worry about. Andy is a key part of this franchise weather we like it or not now. Cavs "fans" can feel free to jump ship now if they like. I'm staying the course.
