I've been watching this religiously since it started airing on Galavision. It's my favorite wrestling show right now, with no ROH, Superstars, or NXT on TV.

I've always followed CMLL, but only the big matches on youtube (Sombra, Mistico, Averno, Ultimo Guerrero, etc). The main eventers are great workers, but it's the midcard that really makes CMLL shine. Everyone can go. Guys like Olympico, La Mascara, and all of the young flyers.

The storylines are easy to follow, and I dont know a word of spanish. The build for the Averno/Mascara mask vs mask has been awesome.

If youve got Galavision, you should DVR this and give it a shot.
 
What I also like better than AAA, is almost all of the matches are traditional lucha matches with best of 3, team captains, etc. AAA has all but given up on this.

AAA also does more goofy non wrestling stuff, like a really low rent TNA. I knew AAA was bad, but never realised just how bad it was until I started watching this regularly.
 
Been watching CMLL since I moved to Miami...I don't fully pay attention nor keep up fully, just watch matches, so, I'm kind of always lost on story, but whatever.

Where else am I gonna watch old, but still awesome Jushin Liger.
 
The Fight Network used (and may still) show old CMLL shows (from about 08 or 09) on Saturday mornings. I used to PVR them and quite enjoyed them. Nothing was better than the midget they had in the purple gorilla suit. I also developed an appreciation of Mark Jindrak (aka Marco Corleone) due to those. Its too bad I don't get Galavision - would love to be able to check out current CMLL stuff.
 
Watching this past weekends show right now...

Rey Cometa and El Hijo Del Signo tore the fucking house down in the opener. There was a countdown clock on the big screen, so I guess they are doing some sort of beat the clock gimmick or something, because there was a 10:00 time limit and these guys went balls to the wall the entire time. It was awesome. Time expired with both men laid out on the floor after a plancha.

This is easily my favorite show right now.

Traditional trios match w/captains. Fuck AAA.
 
Everyone in CMLL is seemingly 5'8", a little chubby, and can work like a million bucks.

These guys are built like Finlay, then do corkscrew planchas and shit, and you're like, wtf.
 
Main event time...and its a good one.

Mascara Dorada, La Sombra, & La Mascara vs. Averno (unmasked!), Ephisto, Mephisto

Averno is showing good charisma without the hood. I am thinking I may have undersold him in that regard.

Averno & La Mascara are your captains, obviouisly, as the feud continues....
 
I've been thinking about this, WWE should bring in the entire trio along with Averno. Making Averno a "leader" would help get him over stringer, plus Mephisto & Ephisto both have good looks with the devil/goth gimmick, and it would give Sin Cara guys to beat on TV while building up the eventual singles match with Averno.
 
Two hours, three really good matches. Lots of commercials, but that's no issue with a DVR.

What's amazing, is the lucha storylines in both CMLL & AAA are easier to understand than the TNA storylines, and I dont know more than three or four words of spanish.

Why would I care to even look at the reviews? Its not like any of this will lead to some reinvention of the company that makes a difference.

Still gonna see Hogan, Bischoff, the bums they associate with on the show, Abyss, Scott Steiner wrestle and not deliver awesome loony promos, and a lot of other shitty wrestlers like Sting and his again, dated gimmick.

You'll never see A Double cut a promo again or some random Indy guys...just same ole shit. Why invest?

Its not like TNA has had blips on the radar where they have a show or a match that people think is good...they have them here and there, but very very rare and then its back to a shit product again.

Well duh!

It's not like i'm setting the DVR for Thursday. But that show entertained me plenty for 3 hours. Probably because there was no Bischoff or Hogan or Sting and limited storylines.

I call it like I see it. TNA got the job done for one night.

I'd rather set the DVR for Thursdays than shell out money for that crap.
 
This week they devoted the entire 90 minutes to ANOTHER Averno/Ephisto/Memphisto vs La Sombra/La Mascara/Mascara Dorada match. There was million commercials, but that's what DVR's are for.

HOLY SHIT was this awesome. As soon as it hits youtube, i'll post it here. The third fall was really great.
