Colt Brennan -- a 2007 Heisman Trophy finalist -- was arrested for DUI in Hawaii this morning ... and cops say drugs were involved.

The former University of Hawaii star quarterback -- who later spent a couple of disappointing years in the NFL -- was arrested at 11:50 PM Wednesday.

According to HawaiiNewsNow.com, the 28-year-old was busted for suspicion of drunken driving and promotion of a dangerous drug in the third degree -- aka drug possession.

It is unclear what kind of drug Colt is accused of possessing.

Hey brah, I said I was rooting for him. Like I am Graham Harrell as well (btw I was saying during the draft the Cowboys should've drafted Harrell instead of McGee. Harrell's about to do big things as the #2 in GB and McGee's about to be cut).

I think the way QB's are developed plays a big part. Harrell wasn't even drafted. Flynn was a 7th rounder. Rodgers probably wouldn't be the QB he is now if he went somewhere else. I just don't think Dallas knows how to develop QB's.

Wow.. don't know how I let this get past me.. yeah CB under June Jones & that Hawai'i offense was pretty sick.. And say what ya wanna about being a system QB and all, but I think he woulda' been ridiculous under the right NFL system, be it of the Saints, Patriots or Packers.. sorry but doom was spelled out when the Skins drafted him.. think, going from Hawai'i to DC, talk about a culture shock.. now think if he woulda' been drafted by the Saints & woulda' been schooled behind Brees and coached by Payton, indoors, down South, warm weather etc etc.. but, woulda' shoulda', ended up in WAS and now butsted for booze and more than likely a lil' of that pakalolo :smug: .. yeah, like many of you I was rootin' for him as well, even printed up a custom cover for NCAA08 so I didn't have to look at any fag Boise St. QB, fuck Boise State and that blue smurf field.. sidenote: I'm from Hawai'i and have always hated that school..
