I like the hire. If you are going to have a "new era" like Irsay said then they needed to go all out. Manning I'm assuming is gone, but Mathis who said he would like to play in a Ravens defense could stay also Reggie who played at Miami when Pagano was there.

The Colts are irrelevant for at least a couple years now. But if Manning is healthy and can play for someone else,thats more interesting to me

Pagano is awesome, sad to see him go. Went from the bottom of the league in sacks in 2010 to third in 2011 after he took over. Players loved him. Good hire for Indianapolis.

Awesome hire. When I first saw his name as a candidate, I was enthusiastic. I'm excited with the changes and possibility of a revamped (3-4?) Man D over the next couple yrs. We will overhaul most of the roster, take Luck with the first pick, then focus our draft and FA on OL, LB, CB, WR and RB. Colts fans will all be like kids at Xmas and be chomping at the bit for next season.

I could see Pagano cherry picking current Ravens defensive FAs Redding, McKinney or Johnson, or even targeting Miami's promising project, Paul Soliai, as his next Haloti Ngata.

You also have the choice of Rogers or Franklin from the Saints, as both are free agents and could slide right into the NT spot.

Great hire. The Colts need to build around their defense. I still think they will keep Peyton Manning, but that is just me. The offensive line also needs some work as well, and they need to look at getting Saturday's eventual replacement on the roster too.

I thought that if they were going to draft Andrew Luck then they should've hired an offensive coach to ensure that he's in the same system as long as that guys the head coach. If they can land Hue Jackson as OC though, then that would be one hell of a coaching staff.

Colts need to build a D. With the old regime...they just relied on Peyton and as a result had an uber soft defense.

Peyton, and eventually Luck, will be able to shoulder the burden of the offense by themselves. The D needs to step up and be addressed...the Colts consistently neglected the defense.

I must be the only one not overly impressed with the hire. Post Peyton era should have started with a coach with some HC experience IMO. Maybe he'll be great though, but I hope not.
