Cristiane "Cyborg" Justino is currently in the middle of a yearlong suspension but, like fellow suspended fighters Alistair Overeem and Nick Diaz, she's trying to keep her name in the news by doing media appearances. Today's appearance was on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, and she got right to the topic that a lot of people are interested in - a possible bout between her and Strikeforce 135 lb. champion Ronda Rousey. Unfortunately, Cyborg can't make bantamweight. She says she's around 160 and is already 'really skinny'. But she can make 140:
"I really wanna fight Ronda," she said on Monday's edition of The MMA Hour. "I really want to. She says bad things about me. I never say bad things about my opponent. I want to do my best in the octagon, and if she says she wants to fight me, she can come to my weight or at 140."
She claims that Rousey dropped to 135 to avoid her:
"She started at 145," she said of Rousey's Strikeforce career. "And she's running to 135. She's running to not fight me. And after, she speaks a lot of s--- about me. I want to fight her soon. I'm very excited to fight her. And when we're in the octagon, we'll see if she says anything. And if she says anything, I can punch her."
Cyborg's suspension expires in mid-December, so it's somewhat possible that Rousey vs. Cyborg could happen. Rousey has to get through Sarah Kaufman this weekend though. Cyborg says she'll be in attendance, which should be interesting.
