Curry Fired

The Detroit Pistons have fired Michael Curry as coach, the team announced Tuesday.

"This was a difficult decision to make," Pistons president Joe Dumars said in a statement. "I want to thank Michael for his hard work and dedication to the organization. However, at this time, I have decided to make a change."

Curry was named coach on June 10, 2008 and was 39-43 this past season.

The Pistons were swept by the Cleveland Cavaliers in four games.

I agree, I can actually see Avery Johnson being a solid fit in Detroit.

But yeah, I only said Laimbeer because that is the hot name in Detroit right now. Who really knows if he could coach at the NBA level.... time will tell.
 
Pistons coaches really don't last long lately, lol. I am happy that he is gone though, and I have a feeling that Avery Johnson is gonna be the guy this time.
 
I don't see why Lambieer would be such a bad choice. He isn't experienced, but he definitely has a solid leader attitude and championships as a player and a coach (although it is in the WNBA). He can bring a very grind it out attitude that Detroit needs to have. We aren't a big offensive team or a run and gun type team, we need to go in and play physically, which Lambier preaches.

I am not going to say he would definitely be great, but IMO, he deserves a shot in the NBA.
 
Im glad Curry is gone, and Im one of the few that wouldnt be that upset about Lambieer getting the job. Id rather a coach that has already established himself, but I would be ok with that.
