You seem to have some sort of old-time hockey homer goggles on though. Torres' hit was an acknowledgement of two things - 1) he has priors and 2) the hit was exceptionally dangerous. When it comes to James Neil, they only seemed to acknowledge his lack of a 1), even though it was almost an instant replay of the hit on Hossa. Torres is worthy of 25 games based on reputation, but comparing two identical hits even the cleanest player in the league shouldn't be getting a suspension that is just 1/25th the length of the precedent. Another guy without a reputation as a dirty player (Hagelin), gets 3 games for dangerous play, but Neal only gets 1. It's redundant because the Pens are out now, but inconsistency like that can unfairly benefit one team over another and change the fate of the Stanley Cup.
