Fantasy Football Game

Free

NEW YORK -- September 13, 2010
Bloomberg L.P. in partnership with the NFL introduced Decision Maker, a
web-based interactive fantasy football application that uses Bloomberg’s
advanced analytic tools to advise NFL.com fantasy football players on their
best starting lineup each week. The product will give fans the ability to
compare any two NFL players’ performance and predict which player at any
position will produce the best fantasy results.
“We are very excited to be able to use our analytic tools to work with the NFL
in the creation of Decision Maker, a product any fantasy player will find
enjoyable, effective and very visually compelling,” said Bill Squadron, head
of Bloomberg Sports. “We have been able to draw on the successful model
Bloomberg has built in the financial community and apply it to sports data,
the result of which is a unique ‘must have’ for any fantasy football player.”
Bloomberg Sports Decision Maker – while driven by extremely detailed,
fact-based, historical calculations – is very quick and simple to use. It
provides fantasy players with the key answers they need to make their choices
each week. The players are ranked by a system using complex analysis and
formulas update based on recent performance and other factors such as the
opposing defense that week and the weather forecast at that week’s venue.
Decision Maker also has a unique technology-driven Risk/Reward Index,
analyzing consistency of the scrutinized NFL players and pointing to long shot
opportunities for players whose performance tends to be most unpredictable.
By integrating Decision Maker into NFL FANTASY FOOTBALL, the new NFL fantasy
football game and the only one with video integration, NFL.com will offer the
product for free to its fantasy subscribers.
“Our goal in re-launching the NFL.com Fantasy game was to provide our fans the
best possible fantasy football experience,” said Hans Schroeder, Vice
President of Media Strategy and Development for the NFL. “We are excited to be
working with Bloomberg Sports to offer our NFL.com Fantasy players the
Decision Maker product for free as part of our Fantasy game, with the goal of
further enhancing their fantasy football experience on NFL.com.”
The tool is available also as a standalone product at
www.bloombergsports.com/nfl, for use by all fantasy football players using any
fantasy provider.
