After careful consideration over this offseason, the Philadelphia Eagles have decided to part ways with DeSean Jackson. The team informed him of his release today.

Here's a great article about some of the reasons the Eagles parted ways with Jackson. The short story is that Jackson is associating with gang members accused of murder and has embraced that life more than his football duties in the past year or so.

I do hope so. It would be a real boost to the team. He may have ties, but as ralaw said:

The Patriots had no problem paying Hernandez until he was actually arrested, even with their previous worries. The landscape is a bit different since that occurred, but there will be a team that believes it can keep him away from that life. I do hope it is the Jets, but I'm a bit iffy on whether or not they would continue to pursue. Idzik and Woody have said that they want to create a good culture in the locker room, especially after the circus of the 2012 season.
