I havent read any thing about what the buys were for UFC 107, usually you get some indicator unless it just tanked

You underrated BJ as a draw prior to the fight brah...he can draw. He is on par, maybe even a better draw than GSP.

well, his only big draw's were with an undercard of And1 and TUF Superstar Forrest and a super fight with GSP, before that he didnt do much

I'm glad BJ is a draw now, one of my all time favorite fighters to watch

Mir is the breakout star of the year, he knew exactly what he was doing and rode that Brock train. He has a unique skill of being the instigator, yet putting the sympathy on himself.

Just think, he was one bad decision by Mazzagatti away from being irrelevent.

Breakout star of the year? Mir has been around for a while and I could think of a lot more fighters that deserve that title this year than Mir.

Like I said, Mir was irrelevent from the point of his motorcycle accident to before his feud with Brock, now he's one of the top 5 draws in the company. He's now a bonafide star post 100.

If you can "name alot more fighters that deserve that title", i'd like to hear some of those names.

EDIT-Mousasi? Big year in the ring, but he means nothing for business. Machida? Possibly. Mir is a bigger draw. Bones Jones? 2010 will be his year. King Mo? Again, 2010. Same for Lashley.

Mir was a 2-time heavyweight champion before this whole Brock feud ever occurred. Before his motorcycle accident, Mir on was on pace to be one of the biggest stars in the UFC. After he did finally make his return, he lost to some old guy whose name I forget but in turn it made him into a less desirable fighter. He has turned it around though and now is ready as ever to regain his title.

Mir was a two time champ during the dark ages. He was never a star or a draw. Did the accident derail him? Maybe. But it happened, and it is what it is.

He's a mega star now. Comparing him to Dan Hardy or Frankie Edgar is insulting.

What I'm saying is that you can't "breakout" when you're already a known commodity and a strong one at that. We all knew who Mir was before he fought Lesnar.

Everyone knows who somebody like Chris Leben is, but if he all of a sudden became a huge star and mega draw, that would constitute a "breakout" IMO.

Mir was never at the level he is at now. Never close, really.
