After falling into EA's trap in previous Madden's, I honestly think this will be the one. After reading all of the improvements, I can't help but to think it..And it's only March. We still have months to go for the actual game. They are finally adding more in depth stuff instead of dumb gimmicks year after year. It seems like they are actually listening to people's wishes and complaints. So far so good.

What do you guys think?
 
Well alot of people don't like the new-gen games so as long as it better than the previous ones alot of people will be happy.

I just want the RC to be taken out and the 2 minute drill back. Then I'm happy.
 
Yes i think it will deliver. A new producer and all these new features. By this time last year there wasn't nearly as much new features. They are actually saying how committed they are this year and really connecting with the madden community unlike in years past.
 
There is no way it will be great, it can't live up to the hype. People are saying it will be the best madden ever, based on what? How shitty the past 3 next gen madden games have been? EA does this shit every year now with the blogs and the great cocksucker Ian Cummings dangling the carrot of how great the game will be. Then we get it and find out most of the shit he was talking about isn't in cuz they ran out of time. Next he will promise us patches every month and say it can all be fixed that way. Then we will get the patch to fix the D/C glitches for oline games in October and maybe one more in December then they will say...'ok guys, we are focused on making madden 11 the greatest game ever!!!" and we will start all fucking over again.

EA makes a shitty product becasue they can, they have the exclusive liscense from the NFL and since they have no competetion, they can release a sub-par product and we will all buy it... again. The fact that Ian is now 'studing' 2k5 is an even worse sign and it only proves what we all knew... EA got owned by 2k sports and thats why they bought the liscense and tried to put them out of bussiness. EA would have been crushed by 2k by now had they not of put 2k down and Ian knows it. Fuck Ian for playing with all of our emotions, the guy is incompetent and all these people he is supposedly listening to are only the ones who kiss his ass on sites like OS.

This game will fall short, and it may be great, but with all the crap they have released in the past this game can never live up to the hype.

I'm sure I'll play the hell out of it and be excited waiting in line for it in August, but there is always SOMETHING(s) that goes wrong that will lead to the downfall of the game. It will probably be a great game that has some stupid glitches/cheese tactics that end up ruining it after everyone finds them.

I've felt the same way around this time of the year about the new madden every year. And every year I feel let down. I havent been able to sit down and play madden for 5+ hours straight every day of the week since PS2 Madden.
 
Nope.

Like killgod and CLW said it's impossible to believe they will deliver considering their track record. I'll pass on buying it until I hear from reliable people how good it is.

no you ignorant theif, i want it to be great, but judging by their past preformance, the odds are low. it is not impossible for EA to make a good game, just improbable.
 
It depends on what you expect. If you're asking for THIS iteration to blow the pants off of 2k5 in every conceivable way, no. There will still be aspects where 2k5 is better. On balance, however, I think the 2010 game will be the better game. But then, I was never a big fan of the 2k5 style of play. No inertia... same reason I never switched to NextGen Madden until this year.

I have been optimistic about 2010 since Ian and Phil took over, but my real excitement was toward Madden 2011 and 2012. Those were the ones where I thought those hires would pay off. I'm really surprised at the information we're receiving. I guess, when you really look at it, most of it isn't *that* big, but I was thinking we'd see a retooling of offensive lines and franchise mode this year, WR/DB stuff with some presentation next year, so on and so forth... they're really working toward a revolution here, it's amazing.

Ian told me today he's got every blog from now to release planned... precisely what points he's going to cover in each one. Which tells me they've still got plenty more in the tank.

Oh, and I think the OL/DL interaction is where the MOST work is being done, gameplay-wise... Ian is well aware that's where it needed the most work. I can't wait to see that blog.
