It's unclear if real estate magnate Donald Trump ever really planned to run for president. But when he says he's thinking about buying the Bills organization, he apparently really means it.
The Buffalo News writes that the Bills have granted access to their financial information for possible buyers to peruse, and one of those interested is, in fact, Trump.
"I can confirm that Mr. Trump received yesterday information contained in the virtual data room provided by [team financial advisors] Morgan Stanley for application to purchase the Buffalo Bills," Michael Cohen, executive vice president and legal counsel for the Trump Organization, told the paper.
That data room allows those who are interested in buying the franchise to look at the password-protected finances of the team that will help those potential buyers determine how much the team is worth and how much they might want to offer.
Trump has previously said that if he buys the team, he'd keep the organization in Buffalo, something that assuredly would please the league.
"I live in New York, and it's easier for me to go to Buffalo than any other place," Trump said in April. "Where am I going to move it, some place on the other side of the country, where I have to travel for five hours?"
As CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reported months ago, Jon Bon Jovi also is a potential buyer, but since he could be the head of a Toronto-based group interested in the team, it's unclear whether he'd want to move the Bills out of western New York.

Fantastic news for Bills fans if Trump decides the team is worth purchasing. Also great for the NFL, I think Trump would be a great owner for the league to have.
