Semtex has found a new home.

Paul Daley, who was let go by the UFC following a post fight punch on opponent Josh Koscheck, will get a second shot with a major promotion as he has signed a new 6-fight deal with Strikeforce that will see the welterweight debut in 2010.

The news was confirmed to MMAWeekly.com by sources close to the situation on Sunday, and first reported by MiddleEasy.com.

Daley's camp was unavailable for comment, but sources have indicated that the British bomber will still participate in the upcoming Shark Fights card in September that he was previously announced for, although an opponent has not been named yet.

A veteran of several organizations including Elite XC, Daley made his UFC debut in September 2009 with a devastating win over Martin Kampmann. He followed that up with another knockout of submission wizard Dustin Hazelett before being set up in a No. 1 contender's match with Josh Koscheck in May.

Daley found himself on the ground over and over again at the hands of the former NCAA champion wrestler, and when the fight was over he took a cheap shot at his opponent, and UFC president Dana White quickly cut him from the roster and vowed he'd never return.

The Team Rough House fighter got his first post-UFC action in Australia in July getting a win over Daniel Acacio, and now is poised to return to the United States in September for Shark Fights.

There has been no word on when Daley would make his Strikeforce debut, but the they are currently putting together a proposed card for October that may see the Brit in his promotional debut for the organization.

Cyborg is the classic stepping stone guy, like the 80's when all the new heels had to go through Tito Santana before getting a shot at Hogan.

Strikeforce's WW division is very interesting now, not better, but more exciting than the UFC's

GSP, Fitch and Kos can put a cocaine addict to sleep, even there 'stand and banger' is Dan Hardy and he is the king of split decisions, the SF WW division is pure fireworks right now

Lots of names, lots of interesting matchups, but you are right, the UFC divsion is more talented. A few of those guys are jobbers, and a few others are wildcards (Zaromskis, Tarec).

Paul Daley is all hype, he's just a character, that's all. Besides his lucky win over Kampmann who else has he beat... don't worry i'll wait.

Cyborg is a decent fighter, he fought at 205 and 185 most of his career, he is at 170 now, so lets see how he does, guys like him are needed

Of course Daley is hype, the Zuffa hype machine got him in the top 10 after a couple wins

He is pretty good fighter, puts on a good show, he is better than Dan Hardy though, thats for sure

A long-rumored deal between Paul Daley and Strikeforce has officially been finalized.

MMA Fighting has confirmed with Strikeforce director of communications Mike Afromowitz that the former UFC and EliteXC welterweight contender has signed a multi-fight contract with the organization.

The organization has yet to decided when the British fighter will make his Strikeforce debut.

The news comes just days after Strikeforce finalized deals with lightweight Jorge Masvidal and heavyweight Josh Barnett. Coincidentally, Daley defeated Masvidal via unanimous decision last Saturday at Shark Fights 13 in Amarillo, TX.

Daley (25-9-2) is 2-0 since getting released from the UFC moments after he punched Josh Koscheck right after the final bell at UFC 113 in May.

At the post-fight press conference, UFC president Dana White said that, as a of a result of Daley's actions, "Semtex" would never fight again inside the Octagon.

"He's done," White said. "I don't give a [expletive] if he's the best 170-pounder in the world. He'll never come back here again.

"There's no excuse for that. These guys are professional athletes. You don't ever hit a guy blatantly after the bell like that, whether you're frustrated or not. It was probably one of the dumbest things I've ever seen because he is a talented guy, and he is one of the best 170-pounders in the world."

So Daley moved on, and picked up a win in July at Impact FC 2 in Australia against Daniel Acacio.

The former Cage Rage champion rose to prominence in the North American MMA scene when he fought Jake Shields for the EliteXC 170-pound belt on CBS in October 2008. Unfortunately for Daley, was submitted in the second round by Shields.

The 27-year-old's highest profile wins came against Martin Kampmann and Dustin Hazelett in his first two UFC fights.

The current Strikeforce welterweight champion is Nick Diaz. He'll defend his title Oct. 9 against KJ Noons on Showtime.
