Nice to finally finish out a game, although there was still plenty of anxiety. Hazard, Oscar, and Azpilicueta were fantastic. I've been of the mind that there's some obvious sense in letting Lampard leave that pundits dumbfoundingly fail to acknowledge, but at some point all of these goals he keeps scoring have to prove something right?

My concern as a City fan would be that FFP and the new English rules will come in to effect. While the English ones aren't super strict, there are definitely limits. And whoever was doing the buy for City last summer fucked up. Nastasic looks OK, as does Garcia, but they've shown they aren't title winners. Rodwell and Sinclair were a waste. Meanwhile, key performers have not shown up (Lescott, Barry, Clichy, Nasri amongst some others). All those shitty players are going to be tough to offload on the wages they are on
The good thing for them is that Chelsea continue to drop the ball and Arsenal can't get their shit straight. United though, continue to do more right than wrong and will do so while Fergie is there

Last I checked, Manchester City's football-related incomes were not enough to even cover the club's wage bill. And that was even after incestuous sponsorship deal, I believe. Yes, they will have Champions League football next season but how much did it earn them this season? I still say there's no excuse for a side like City going at the Group Stage and that comes with a financial cost.
Were I a City supporter, I'd be pretty frustrated right now. Not because expecting back-to-back titles is particular reasonable but rather because winning the title this season a very realistic goal, regardless of what happened last year. This year's Man United isn't nearly as strong as some of their recent sides, yet they are well ahead on the table because they play at or above their potential as a side. City has not. All of the other top sides have been very inconsistent as well. Theoretically, getting dumped out of the Champions League early should give a side a better chance in the league... but performances like what they had yesterday should be completely unacceptable.
