Self Care
Well I got it at midnight and played for a good 6 hours.
I love the story and how you play through your life. The game does a great job of getting you into the story and feel like you're making real decisions. (I'll add to that later) With that said heres my Pros and Cons thus far:
Pros:
-Huge world....And by huge I mean.."Wow"
-Theres no set path to take at all, this game is the definition of a game you can play your way.
-Great characters. Everyone you talk to it seems like they have a story and they'll draw you in.
Example
My character has a suite in a large hotel tower, I got a quest by the secuirty guards to get rid of the Ghouls who keep wanting to stay at the tower (Ghouls are all but turned Zombies) So I venture down into the subway tunnels and get into their main camp. Right away the lookout spots me and yells to put my weapons away and come up and talk to him. So I do and I actually kind of like the Ghoul. He tells me to go on and see the leader so I go in there and see a female Ghoul, talk to her, then go talk to the leader. They have some master plan to take over the Hotel Tower and use it for themselves, they want me to help by opening a door in the basement of the Hotel where they could release their Feral Zombies in to attack. This all sounded great and everything, but I wasnt gunna help them, I proceeded to toss about 3 or 4 frag grenades and wiped out the three of them, but I actually felt bad killing them.
-VATS system is fair and useful. I was worried it'd make it too easy but its not bad at all.
-Few loading screens, just going in and out of the larger towns and going into the stores.
-Saving takes barely one second, do it often when exploring because you have no clue what will come at you next.
-Framerate isnt bad at all, I've noted it once but just when it was putting scenery toget far away in the distance, and it only happened once. I was on a balcony and I could see miles and miles away, no limit.
Cons
-Hokie was hating pretty bad on the player models and the combat but I dont see what makes either of them that bad. Player models look a lot like Oblivion and the combat is similar to Mass Effect I'd say other then VATS, but it can be jumpy from time to time.
Thats all I got from my first 6 hours with it. I'll add more too it later.
So far I'd say this game was in no way a disappointment for me at all.
