Fantasy Football Issue

I am a commish of a pay league and one of the owners has decided that he is just going to quit changing his lineup.

This week he was playing the #1 person in the league and would have won had he started a defense that wasn't on a bye week. This got more than a few other owners upset because the #1 guy got a free win.

So, the quick solution was to just give everyone a win against the guy that quit, but now it has been pointed out to me that some teams play said quitter more than once.

Now I have either two possible routes to take this,
A) set everything back the way it was, give the first place owner the free win and not touch quitters lineup the rest of the season

B) Take control of quitters team as commish and run it myself, the odd chance the quitters team wins the league I'd just refund everyone or give 2nd place the money. This has been suggested to me by another owner so it is a possibility. I could also do a lineup-by-committee type deal I suppose.

Has anyone else run into this problem before, any advice?

Don't be a Fantasy Football Nazi and take over his team. Talk to the guy and ask him to at least update his roster one last time after the final bye week, which I think this is the last bye week of the season.

The only way you can handle this fairly is to let the guy control the team himself because A) he paid for the team it's his to do with as he will and B) you are a competitor in the league as well correct? If so then it could be argued that you are a cocksucking bother fucker of a commish if you control two teams.

If you do control the team just start the player with the best projected outcome and go from there...

Lastly, you're the commish. Every year I've been the commishioner (5 years now) some bullshit happens. Unfair trades, shitty cuts from losing teams, sandbagging games, etc etc. That's why they give you the :lock: option when everything goes wrong.

I suggest giving some incentive to stay in the league through the end. Maybe have the final team record determine next seasons draft order.

Just try to be honest with yourself, what would you like to see happen if you weren't the commish. Maybe put it to a vote in the league. Good luck to you sir.

It does really depend on the owner who's gone inattentive. Is it for a reason? Have you tried, or been in, contact with that owner?

If he's just a shmuck who's given up care for his team, then take over for bye week decisions, then just leave the roster as is and let that team's season ride out with the roster left alone week-to-week.

P.S. It's so lame when owners flake out. I fucking hate that shit. Happens almost every year.

I would let the win last week stand but going forward make it known that the best roster for that team will be started but know actions will be taken on the waiver wire. After the last bye week, no changes made to the lineup.

It's a shitty situation but one that most fantasy owners have seen happen over the years.

yeah i had a quitter in week 3. He paid already too ($50). I am leaving his lineup the same from week 3.......thats it.

I'll probably just leave his team as is. The douchebag never paid me either, but his brother who is much more responsible has offered to pay for him even though he has quit out.
