Ive made some easy money selling 360 and a PS3 when they first came out.

both times I got really lucky and was one of the first people to preorder at gamestop.

yeah...hmmm I am not so sure you will be able to turn profits so easily this go around. I sold 2 PS3's for over a grand at launch and it was fantastic.

Going by the 3 latest console/portable releases, (3DS, VITA, and WiiU), none of these were worth anything more via Ebay on release day. I will preorder 1 extra of each just in case but I dont think we will be able to profit more than $100 per system.

Once the companies actually announce that they are in fact releasing something this year, then I would look at Bestbuy/Gamestop/Amazon. For meow...nobody knows anything about them.

It'll be after an official reveal for the consoles by Sony and Microsoft (probably at E3 in June). I wouldn't worry about pre-ordering until then.

Ditto. There will be an unveil at E3 followed by a blitz of information on the launch date and when pre-orders begin.

yea i saw the wiiu launch and noticed how many systems they shipped out. No place for profits.

The good news is that I dont open the package so I can just return it back to gamestop for my refund if need be.

A lot of people here at work seem to think we're going to hear more than expected at DICE and GDC regarding the new consoles. Probably won't know a release date until E3, though.

Expect E3 to contain a release date like everyone else has said. I also don't think you'll see the issues at launch that people had for this console generation- I think $100 is the max you could expect from selling a console on Ebay or something, if that. Microsoft and Sony won't let it get out of hand and miss out on some of that money.

Are they revamping PSN for the next gen? Like say a better notification system than a dull grey box that pops up in the same sport where it tells you when someone gets on or offline?

The PSN store has already been revamped and is much better. No doubt they redo the XMB and notifications with the next console.
