People truly underestimate what Tyson could do.
While Tyson had the strength of a slugger, the snap of a compact George Forman, the combos and body work of Joe Frazier, and the speed of which many people had never seen before, they still assume Tyson was merely a slugger that lived off of throwing heavy shots.
Watch the man's fights, he was something incredible, not only because he could knock out ANYONE, but his combos were something scary, I saw Tyson knock a man out, and keep the mans limp body on its feet with a combo. the man was fast, and with his style he was hard to hit, in his prime, when his mind was truly right, there is truly only one boxer you can say bested him, and that was arguably one of the greatest to ever fight in Evander Holyfield.
By the time Tyson was fighting Lewis, he was already somewhat of a joke, and no one truly expected him to win the fight.
But people truly underestimate and belittle the fact that Tyson was in truth one of the greatest BOXERS to ever fight. the man could box, his combos were absolutely incredible, his work ethic for his body was something amazing, his speed was unmatchable in the heavyweight class, his power was equaled by few, the man was a freak of nature.
If only someone could have watched out for him, someone he could have trusted that was really working for him, his life could have turned out a lot better then it is now. and instead of going to jail, he could be reading books to 3rd graders. Mike Tyson's life is a tragedy and the sad thing is a lot of the shit that's happened isn't his fault.
But don't go off saying Tyson was a slugger, he was nothing of the sort.
