I'm not sure how you guys can pick anyone over Bautista or Halladay. Baustista leads the AL in OBP, Slugging, OPS, Home runs, wOBA, and WAR. What does Gonzalez lead in? Average and RBIs, two stats that are extremely overrated. Bautista is second in average just to boot.

Reyes is my homer pick, but he's also got great numbers. 65 R, 22 2B, 15 3B, 30 SB, 3 HR, 32 RBI, .354/.398/.529

But Kemp is the best player on a shitty team. 55 R, 23 2B, 2 3B, 27 SB, 22 HR, 67 RBI, .313/.398/.584

Know what, based on the Mets being above .500, I'll say Jose Reyes.

AL MVP: I know Adrian Gonzo gets a lot of live because he's been great for a 1st place team, but I can't get past Jose Bautista's great numbers. They're just better.

In 63 less ABs than Gonzo, Bautista has hit .334/.468/.702 (compared to .354/.414/.591), has 31 HR, 65 RBI, 74 BB, 73 R compared to 17 HR, 77 RBI, 35 BB, 64 R for Gonzo.

AL Cy Young: Justin Verlander -- His numbers are just plain better than Sabathia's and Weavers.
AL ROTY: I'd like to put Trumbo but he strikes out too much and some of his ancillary numbers aren't great (R, RBI, BB)….Michael Pineda

---He's put it together with a high 90's heat, and knee buckling curve. Nasty stuff and seemingly is a threat to get a no-hitter every night out now.

---If Verlander wasn't such a beast, Pineda would be possibly top 5 in Cy Young in the AL. Easy selection.

---Reyes plays very good defense and has been a hitting machine. Should get 50 SB's, maybe 25 triples...just an amazing season despite the injury.

---Maybe the toughest pick here between Halladay and Jurrjens. I like Jurrjens as he has the edge in Halladay in ERA, .BAA and wins. But Halladay has Jurrjens in K's, IP's, CG's, WHIP. So I went with Roy slightly over Jurrjens

NL ROOK OF THE YEAR- Craig Kimbrel
---TBH this maybe nicknamed the Braves ROY because you have Brandon Beachy who I feel is #2 in the race, and then Freddie Freeman who's 3rd. Braves have an embarrassment of riches.

The All Star break is here and with every team playing over half of their 162 games, it’s now the perfect time to look at the stats for the half season of games. After that, we can make up reasons why each winner deserves it over the guys that just barely lost out. So here we go!
AL MVP
Jose Bautista – Toronto Blue Jays

I actually found the choice between Adrian Gonzalez and Jose Bautista to be very difficult. Both players are at the top of the heap when it comes to talent as hitters is concerned. You just can’t avoid Bautista and his 7.2 WARP (Wins Above Replacement). Well, that and the fact he has 31 HR at the break to go with a crazy .334 BA. It’s just amazing to see him put up these kind of stats after what he did last year. Many readers and forum members thought he was a fluke and that he had no shot at reproducing the year he had in 2010. He’s actually doing even better than he did last season. That’s why Bautista is the AL MVP! P.S. Homerun Derbies don’t mean anything.

Freddie Freeman. He's got better rate stats and he's catching up in the counting stats. WAR likes Espinosa better, mainly due to the 3.5 defense rating. I'm not sure why UZR hates Freddie's glove so much (-6) but that alone accounts for most of the difference.

Plus Espinosa is two years older and had 120 plate appearances last year, barely staying rookie eligible. I factor in degree of difficulty with my ROY vote too. A guy breaking in fresh or at a younger age is gonna get the edge over the guy with an extended cup of coffee under his belt, if all else is equal of course.

Not to mention that Freddie has carried the Braves offense this past month. (Since June 10: .280/.363/.580, 8 HR, 21 RBI. Braves are 19-8 during that time.) Carrying a playoff team as a rookie tends to get you pretty far in voting.

AL CY Young: Justin Verlander with my boy Weaver a very very close second. Verlander has 1 more win about 10 more IP and 20 or more Ks. WHIP is .04 difference in favor of Verlander and Weaver has the better ERA under 2. Both have 4 CG and 2 SHO. WOW.

LOL. Bautista is the MVP hands down. RBI's are a joke, and shouldn't be taken seriously. Bautista's wOBA (a stat that weighs all aspects of hitting, with respect to their different run values (for the tards)) is .487, over .5 points higher then any other player! The MLB average in 2010 was .321! Last year, Josh Hamilton led MLB in wOBA with .447! Bautista's season is out of this world, and he is by far the MVP.
 
LOL at knocking Joey Bats for "only" having 65 RBI at the break.

Even if we forget that RBIs are not really useful in comparing two players, he's still on pace for 110-120 RBI.
