Fitzgerald willing to restructure deal

Questions surround Cardinals WR Anquan Boldin and his future in Arizona. But one of the keys to it could turn out to be Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald.

Just as Fitzgerald accepted a four-year, $40 million deal from Arizona last year, when he could have made considerably more on the open market but wanted to leave the Cardinals salary-cap space, Fitzgerald would like to help the team again.

Fitzgerald is willing to restructure his contract so the Cardinals can redo Boldin’s and keep him in Arizona long-term. Boldin wants his deal redone and said during the season that he never would re-sign with Arizona again. However, many around the league believe that as long as the Cardinals make a sufficient offer, Boldin will agree to stay.

Plus, it will be especially hard to turn down when Fitzgerald is willing to make the selfless offer that he is to make it possible for Boldin to stay. The two compose the game’s top receiving duo, and their salaries also could be tied to one another.

Everyone has seen that Fitzgerald is one of the game’s top players this postseason. Now they’re about to see how selfless he can be this offseason.

Maybe Boldin will stay after all. Even though he did say he would NEVER re-sign with Arizona. Classy move and selfless move by Fitz. Gotta have respect for a guy who is willing to cut into his own contract for another player.

I dont think you guys get the other side f this....without Boldin on the oher side...Fitz becomes the main focus EVERY play...Of course he'll take a mil or two less a year to keep somebody out there that will help him get open, anybody would it doesnt makeyou a saint it makes you smebody that knows what its goin to take to go down as one of the best ever and ake moe money in the long run

Doesnt sound like a greedy receiver to me. He deserves all the money he gets because he is awesome

4 years 40 mil is a huge contract. He just wanted to be the highest paid receiver in the NFL. Last off-season he was a greeding receiver looking for a big contract. Now that they are in the superbowl he decided to take a pay cut because he now realizes they have a chance at success and that success has a better chance of continuing with boldin there. I guarentee you if they didn't get to the superbowl boldin would be gone. Now im just saying, he is doing something selfless now because he actually realizes they have a chance at doing something, but he would've still been greedy if they sucked.

boldin is still mad about how he got treated, if they lose teh SB he will bolt anyways. i hope this is a trend, guys willing to take a little less than they could get for the good of a team and a shot at winning.

Thats the patriots way. Ive seen a couple other players like jerome bettis do that sorta thing too.
