Gabe Sapolsky channels his inner Dana White, blasting Meltzer on twitter

Regarding the situation with doing an angle with Gabe Sapolsky, while there are a lot of people in ROH who had heat with Sapolsky, who was even sent a threatening letter regarding talking about ROH publicly, neither Jim Cornette nor Hunter Johnson (Delirious) had any problems with him. They proposed two ideas, one was for him to show up and get an award at the anniversary show, but it was suggested a better idea was to bring some of his guys and do an interpromotional angle. From the ROH standpoint, they felt it would allow guys from both promotions to get more dates and would give ROH more variety in programs, and they would recognize the Evolve promotion on the ROH television show and allow him to book some ROH talent on his shows. Sapolsky gave a number of reasons why he thought what was proposed to him as far as the angle wouldn’t work, but did propose the idea of coming back and being part of ROH working there as a regular salaried job, doing a lot of the type of work he had done for the promotion in the past. But ROH wasn’t interested and it ended there.

Last week Meltzer mentioned in passing that Gabe asked ROH for "a job". Gabe sent out a release through DGUSA politely denying that tidbit.

That does seem like BS at least to me. From the outside looking in I'd imagine DGUSA/Evolve is in better shape than ROH at the moment.

Unless he thinks he could work for both, or even bigger picture, basically bring his crew over and combine the rosters under the higher profile ROH banner.

Either way, Gabe has to deny it publicly whether its true or not. Who knows.

The part that smells funny to me, is that he turned down an opportunity to get EVOLVE mentioned on ROH tv. (Sorta) national TV exposure certainly wouldn't hurt DVD sales.

This was Gabe's response last week:

I am 100% loyal to Dragon Gate USA, EVOLVE and the WWN family. I believe in our talent roster, our crew and most importantly all of you who put your faith in us. I get a great deal of enjoyment out of working with everyone from the crew to the wrestlers to the office. Dragon Gate was there for me at one of the lowest points in my life. They are the most professional company I have ever worked with. They have 100% of my loyalty. Sal Hamaoui is not only someone I respect greatly on a professional level, but he has always been a tremendous friend. The DGUSA/EVOLVE roster has committed to us and for that I am 100% loyal to them and will work for them. The way the report in the Observer was written made it sound like I would jump ship. For the record, I had no interest in standing in a ring and having my ego stroked by getting some vanity plaque. I want to make a difference. I always have. I was willing to discuss a bigger deal and it ended there. Under no circumstances would I have left DGUSA, EVOLVE, Dragon Gate, Sal and our roster behind. They are my heart.

This kinda jibes with what Meltzer said this week, concerning the idea of an angle that fell apart.
