Depends on the type of gamer you are. I had this talk with HoustonBoy once, except I was in a pissy mood so I basically told him he can fuck off. Anyways, if you like to play games, finish them quickly, and then stop playing them, then this service is perfect for you. You only pay maybe $15 (not exactly sure) and you can probably bang out two games a month, maybe three. If you like to play games, but you like to continuously play them, such as playing online for Call of Duty, or having dynasties in NCAA, this might not be for you. If you're going to keep the one game for a month or two, it may still be cheaper than the $60, but it may not be worth it for you.

you pay about 22 bucks for 2 games out, 15 for 1 game. Also, when you buy games, they are usually at discounted prices, AND, depending on how long you've been there, you get an extra discount on that (5% for 6 months, 10% for a year), so most games are pretty much cheaper than what you would see at an ebgames or something. For example, When a game just releases and they already send it to me, i can pay about 45 bucks to keep the game (they'll ship me the case and manual). For example, right now I have Infinite Undiscovery..and I could pay about 22 bucks to keep it.

Every 6 months, they give you 5 "gamefly dollars", which can be used towards buying another game.

I was always lucky with my games and they were decent, but that's jsut me.

Gamefly is a great tool. I used to be a avid game "buyer". I'd drop $49.99 on a new game every 2 weeks to a month. But I'd have games like (Saints Row 2) where I bought it and only played it twice. Now I have Gamefly and I pay them $24.99 or so a month and they send me 2 games. I play the shit out of them and send them back within' the same month (usually).

Games die out and there are very few that are worth keeping. So if you are a avid game "buyer" then Gamefly will save you money. But if you rarely buy games then don't bother and just rent them from a local block buster or buy them used from Gamestop.

I never had them scratched but to say it would never happen is stupid. They come in a cardboard slip and a paper slip to protect them during the delivery. But as far as people scratching them, when they get them back; they check them. Kinda like blockbuster checks their dvds and videos when they are returned.

also the cool thing about game fly is they work with the postal service. So you have free shipping and handling and mailing is prepaid for. When you send a game back, the post office scans them and gamefly gets the scan and sends the next one out A.S.A.P. Even before they actually receive the game.

Is there ever a long wait on gamefly?

I have Pineapple Express on my Queue for NetFlix since it came out and its still on Long Wait.

If you are on a 2 game contract. If you have 2 games out and you have a game on your QUE that just came out. Chances are you will have to wait a couple weeks once you send one of your games back. Or they will send you the first game on your QUE thats available.

Thats why if there is a game you really want. Make sure you send one of the games you have back maybe 1 week before the release date of the next one. That way you are guranteed a copy.

It's is almost identical to NetFlix, except they are slightly better customer service.

It depends on how often you play and what games you plan on getting.

I got it because they're alot of games that I wanted but never got and alot of ones that I was on the fence about and gamefly helps alot.

Instead of playing like 30 for Gears of War I could just rent it from gamefly and beat it within 1 week. Same thing with some older popular games like Bioshock or Mass effect.

For instance I really didn't want to play Bioshock but everyone said it was awesome and a 2nd one is coming out. I know it probably has no replay value so I can just rent it and probably beat it within a week instead of paying the full price.

But the games with tons of replay value like COD, Madden, Halo etc..... I just buy like normally.

Gamefly can also help you try out those games. Like for instance if you heard a game with a bunch of replay value like COD was good but you wanna try it first. Just rent it and then if you like it buy it. You can even just keep it and gamefly will send you the case and a booklet which you don't get when you but used games at gamestop/crazy.

Gamefly is defienately usefull for me. I rent games and beat them in about a week and then ship them out for no ones.

but if you think about it,you are basicly paying 60 for them even when getting the 10-15 dollar discount because of you paying for membership still.Still,Its a great service.Only problem I have is they are getting toooooooo popular.It is so hard to get games out that I like.NHL 09 has been low available for like 2 months now.

that's where the whole "buying in bulk" comes to factor. Yes if you only buy one game from them it may be just like paying 60, but the more you buy the less it is.....

yeah I dont buy much but when u buy it the immediatly send you another game......it is awesom if you like to try many games that you normally wouldnt buy,

Most people have at least 2 game membership, so when you buy a game at a discount, you automatically get another one sent to you plus keep the one you already have. If you have the one disc plan, then you aren't saving as much...more like paying to test out a potential game. I only live a couple of hours from Austin, TX (a GF shipping site)....so if I send my game Monday, I usually get mine by Thursday.

I put a game in the mail Monday and today I got a text msg on my phone saying they are sending out Godfather 2 on PS3. Before I sent the game I saw I had Godfather for 360 as my #1 game but it was already "Low" in stock, so I switched to PS3 which was "Available Now."


edit: I was looking at the keep it price; if I decided to keep it (most likely I will)...it would be $45 (that includes Texas sales tax). I get 5% off and have a $5 coupon.

edit 2: Just saw some reviews.....most are in the 70's and Gamespot gave it a 4.5! I seriously doubt it is that bad. I liked messing around with the first but didn't get far into it; I'm hoping to rebuy the first one soon.
