The One and Only
oh hi there... im coming back to VSN because the activity on this site is better then the rest
It's a new year and a new Madden but yet again... no salary cap feature added to online franchise? WTF EA?
I'm here to solve it all!
enters: LEGENDARY VETERANS ONLINE FRANCHISE 2.0!
For the lucky ones who experienced the roller coaster ride of the league last year, you will have an idea what the hell is going on... for those of you who weren't; sit down and prepare to have your minds blown! :einstein: PS > I think i wrote a book below
What seperates us from the other leagues?
simple (yet very complex) - FULL roster realistic salary information added for all 32 teams! What?!? yes, every player on every team will have a contract just like real life! Only downfall (other then the work I put in) is that I dont have the game in hand yet and to create the salary cap, I need a few days to get things in order
every player will take their real contract and round to the nearest $50k. Bonuses will also be factored in. more info on that later
Offseason will be more complex as well. We now have UFAs, RFAs, holdouts, andFranchise tags. more info on tat later as well
I will answer any questions if that was not clear enough for you. believe me (or ask other members from last year) I will be helping anyone and everyone as much as possible
So... you hear the dopeness of the salary cap, right? thats not all! :fear:
new this year: Coaching Contracts!
"what is that" you ask? keep reading and I'll explain!
it's actually quite simple, the better your team is, the less profit you will earn per game. best team (Saints) are set to sign a contract of 25% per win [meaning you earn $0.25 per user win] If you sign a 2 year contract, you would then earn 35% per win in year 2 + potential bonuses for division winner and super bowl winner. If you sign a 3 year contract, your base salary will jump another 10% to 45% + potential bonuses. If you havnt picked up on it yet, this league is not free to enter but each team will walk away with prize money (just some people wont earn more then they paid) more info on that below. With winnings per game, there will also be fines for missing a game and winnings per game are dropped 20% for beating a CPU opponent. detailed explanations are in the official league rules threads of the LVOF forums on a different site but the league will move here if things get moving interested members - feel free to ask me questions in this thread or AIM (sn: oshiomogho)
On to the Green
yes - this is a money league. For the effort I put in to keep this league better then any other league in operation, I can't afford to have cheesey users or users who arnt commited. I feel that forcing a small fee to enter should help filter out kids or nonserious gamers.
There will be a one time $5 entry fee to join the league and $10 per season fee. Signing a 1 year contract will cost $10, a two year contract will cost $20 at signup and a three year deal will cost $30.
I will be looking to start filling up the league officially next week at some point. If you are interested, you can im me or DM me. gameplay rules are not set up at the moment. I have a base to work from but would love league input to set up the gameplay. no cheese! straight ball only. Advance will be every 4 days MAX
I may be looking for a few dedicated members to help keep things organized and in line while I focus on keeping the salary cap info up and running but I am willing to do everything if needed.
this was a lot of writing, if you made it through it all, congrats! if you skimmed... ill be here to assist you through it all if you are interested. some things I didnt even cover were FA signing period rules, draft rules, trading rules. The point of this thread was to advertise the epic return of the greatest league of the year and to open things up for discussion... discuss away. ill keep checking in to try and help out and past members of the league can add comments on my commitment. I will keep the league operating at a successful level but it will take commitments from all members
thank you :elephant:

here is an example based on Madden 10 info:
in 2009, OJ Atogwe was franchised to a contract valued at $6,342,021
in last years league, al salaries would be rounded to the nearest million. Atogwe would count on the team Salary Cap as a contract of $6M
in the new league, player salaries are rounded to the nearest $50k. making Atogwe's salary $6,350,000
every player will take their real contract and round to the nearest $50k. Bonuses will also be factored in. more info on that later

confused? :ionno:When signing up for the league, you will enter a team draft to select your team.
Each first year contract is based on a percent (%) regular season rate off the $1 per game prize determined by the teams previous season
each future year of the contract is raised 10% with a maximum length of a three year contract
If you are a coach in search of work. Teams will do buisness with you but instead of you driving up your price, you will bid to drive down your per game profit to increase team interest. Teams can only bid as high as the team is valued at. Once a bid is placed on a team, other free agent coaches can outbid the offer during a 48 hour period. Any outbid coach will have 5 hours to place another bid even if the original outbid is after 43 hours.

The londer contract you commit to at the start, the larger prize money you will have later on. If your contract runs out, you are then able to search for work, following the bidding rules from above. You are allowed to quit on your contract but you will only receive current winnings while the rest of the contract will be added to the pot. For users entering midseason, each 2 games you miss will remove $1 from your entry fee. again, feel free to ask me questionsDo the math - right now there are 22 teams that will earn $0.50 or more per win in season 1. a 10 win season is $5.00 or more and each round of the playoffs past wildcard round will double your per game prize. (WC=base, DR=basex2, CC=basex4) and super bowl win is 10x your per game profit.
example: redskins owner is set to earn $0.60 per regular season win. so if he wins 12 games, thats $7.20. if he wins the Super Bowl, that is another $1.20 + $2.40 + $6.00. totalling $16.80 for season one. each team will earn different prize money.
