[360] Gears of War: Judgment

The next installment in the Gears of War franchise will be the cover of the July issue of Game Informer. The final name and cover art won't be revealed until next Monday, during Microsoft's E3 press conference.

Can barely hold back the excitement.

Maybe something about the war before the fight against the Locust? (they touched on it in the comics and I think the books but nobody read them unless they were a GOW nut)

Honestly i have little interest in this game. I mean, the first Gears was great but other than adding horde mode, the next two were more of the same.

They released a book about 3 weeks ago that told the story about him in prison and how he got there so Im not sure if they'll make a game about it too, but Im most likely wrong.

I love Gears so I'll take any more I can get. It may be more of the same but it's still top quality.

But of course we know they'll be making Gears and Halo games forever. Those are like the only two exclusives that MS has left.

Great call. I would bet that's exactly what it is. I remember playing through Gears and thinking "I guess they'll get to explaining why Marcus was jailed" but they never really did. I mean, I know he allegedly disobeyed orders, like you said, but they never really tell you exactly what he did.

I was under the impression that they kind of explained it in "the greatest story ever told" even if it wasn't done super well. My Gears story memory is fuzzy but I felt like I remembered reading/seeing that his going for his dad was against orders and he got court marshaled for it. Although if that really is the reason, yikes. Of all things to be court marshaled for when dudes are coming out of the ground to try and skull fuck you.

Barrick was intro'd in the books n got an intro in Gears 3 DLC, AND a good portion of ppl who play the Gears Games do NOT follow/care for the books written in the Gears universe..

This Game came out less than a year ago...cant imagine Cliffy B and Epic doing another full fledged Gears so soon...I was thinking about it...

Maybe this is the Next batch of DLC? Massive amount of content like SR3 is trying with "enter the Dominatrix" or Rockstar did with "undead Nightmare"? rather than another disc?...

IIRC Fenix cost a bunch of lives going back for his dad (taking the HOD laser with him) but his whole reason was what had happened previous to Carlos Santiago he hesitated to go back for him as Carlos said to get away and further damage resulted in

Theres plenty of material. Eday was 14 years prior to GOW1. You add the pendulum wars leading up to HOD tech and you have a bunch of stuff you can make a good war game out of. Long as they arent lazy that is.

Bulletstorm studio involved in new Gears of War game

It seems that last year's rumors were at least in part true, and that Bulletstorm studio People Can Fly is involved in the latest Gears of War project. Epic Games president Mike Capps admitted as much on Twitter, where he said, "YES YES YES!" when asked whether the recently announced Gears of War title had "involvement" from the Polish dev studio.

Last November, a rumor popped up that People Can Fly were working on a prequel in the Gears of War franchise – not exactly an unsurprising move considering the studio's lack of financial success with its last game, despite critical acclaim. It's unclear how much involvement PCF has in the next Gears title, or if the game is a prequel, but Epic promises we'll hear more on Monday during Microsoft's E3 press conference.

I haven't even played any GOW game yet. I wonder if I should play GOW 2 then GOW 3 or just skip to GOW 3?
