Do Kentucky fans wish Tubby Smith was still coaching the team? I've never seen a championship-winning coach treated so badly on his way out.

College BBall is the only sport where I don't cheer for a Minnesota team. UK is my team ever since I watched Jamal Mashburn. That said I love the fact that Tubby is in Minnesota!

I'd love to get Pitino back but I doubt it happens.

Also am I the only one who thinks Donovan would be stupid to come to Kentucky? The expectations for Florida basketball aren't near as high as they are in Kentucky. Donovan could suck it up for the next 5 years and still probably not have to worry about losing his job. Anything short of a FF appearance and he could be gone in Kentucky like that.

I would think Calapari would have the most to gain from moving to Kentucky. Move to a better conference, a higher profile school, and the ability to get more money than Memphis.

Good coach and a hell of a recruiter. He would turn UK around QUICK.

Besides, who would want Bob Knight? I like his approach to the game, but he's past his time. Coach Knight led teams haven't been relevant in college basketball for ages.

Kentucky might want to watch how they push Gillispie out, because the program is starting to look bad as far as how it treats its coaches. I would say the team should go after a young guy like Anthony Grant from VCU (although he's about to be at Alabama), but the program doesn't give younger up and coming guys time. However, I highly doubt guys like Pitino, Donovan or Calipari would make that jump.

WHAS 11 in Louisville is reporting that Billy Gillispie has been fired. My contact in the Lexington media said that everyone in the Lexington media are wondering how they have the scoop.

lmao my family in louisville has been posting on facebook that Gillispie is fired and Pitino will retake the Kentucky job as soon as Uvel loses in the NCAA tourney. That will never freaking happen.

What a strange marriage from the get go. I thought that was a dream hire for UK and Gillispie, guess I'll get in line between everyone else who thought this would work out beautifully.

I could see Georgia taking a stab at bringing Billy Clyde down to Athens. It'd be sick revenge for Tubby Smith if Gillispie turned UGA into a power.

Respect me Im on the phone? Billy G was a douche to plenty of people during his time in Lexington, most notably the halftime reporter for ESPN TWICE on national tv. He has the nerve to ask someone to respect him???? Good riddance

Tubby was a hardass tough nosed D coach, you didnt really hear of too many players not liking him besides Michael Bradley who was a Pitino recruit and transferred.

Who knows how true it was JTW but ive saw multiple different places on the net that Patterson, Meeks, Liggins, Stewart, and Miller were ALL GONE if Gillispie came back. Those are pretty much the only players worth a damn on the team. Daniel Orton better have been superman if him and Gillispie were going to lead this team to more than 12 wins next year if that wouldve happened.

So do GJ Vilarino and Daniel Orton who both seemed to really like BCG still end up in lexington?
