Bullock and Clooney aren't exactly two names I get excited about but Alfonso Cuaron is. With a resume featuring Children of Men, Y Tu Mamá También, and The Prisoner of Azkaban he hasn't really let us down yet. So check it out...
 
I have a feeling this, The Counselor and 12 Years a Slave will be the most spoiler box'd movies of the year. I'm very much looking forward to it.

This movie is so good. I saw it a second time and it didnt drop at all. Hard to picture the original cast of Jolie and Downey Jr.
 
After seeing the first trailer...I thought this movie could be a stinker.

Then, I saw the reviews it was getting...nearly flawless.

Checked it out today...the film is fantastic. Perfect? No. The go-home sequence was a bit over the top and Sandra Bullock HAM'd it up in that sequence. With that said, after thinking about it...its the best and greatest use of 3D in the history of film to this point. This movie was a technical masterpiece. This film should win ALL DA VISUAL EFFECT AWARDS. The always moving, long takes in this film are something they'll be showing film students going forward. That is how good and how impactful it will be on the industry moving forward.

I'm not often sucked into a film quite like I've been sucked into this one. There are scenes that legitimately pulled me from lounging in my theatre chair to the edge of my seat...not necessarily because of a plot device, but the cinematography just sucked me into the screen, my eyes rolling around my skull with each rotation these characters took while hurling through space. Very very well done.

I could have easily seen Downey Jr. in the Clooney role and there would have been no drop off. Jolie, in 2013, is a bit tough to sympathize with...Bullock has a very every-woman charm and likability to her that works much better than Jolie would have in this film, because its that aspect of her that sucks us right into every scene with her.

Damn I was on the fence with this movie...and I see damn near every fucking movie in the theatre's...now I'll def see this one...

The plotline is whatever. Sandra Bullock is a fucking idiot for 2 hours but the visuals are so magnificent that the movie is a must see.

There are some major flaws regarding the physics used in the story as well but it's a movie, not a textbook on space.

I saw it in IMAX and it was awesome. I hated Sandra Bullock in it (not really her fault her character is a dumb bitch) but the more I think about the visuals the more I want to see the movie again.
